Women should have access to maternal care, wherever they choose to birth

The service these wonderful midwives provide is precious and irreplaceable - of COURSE they should be able to protect their livelihoods with PI insurance - just like any private health professional!

The statistics prove home births and low assistance births have better outcomes for mother and child than hospital births with interference and interruptions. Give women the power to deliver a child in the comfort and safety of their home under the protective and empowering watch of registered midwives.

BIRTH FREEDOM!

Come on, birth is the most natural thing in the planet! Humans have the right to give birth at home (just like animals do in the wild) with the support of a midwife!

If no insurance cie will take this "risk" than the goverments have to cover this. It is a Human Right for women to have a safe choice for the place of birth. Home birth is even a better choice by scientivic surveys for women and children. So it is time that goverments act on this right, make a safe infra structure and get midwives insured so that women can make this choice

I want women and their partners to be free in this and to be able to have a midwife on their side.

Freedom of choice. Use this as research to get a accurate % case of risk compared to hospital births. Women opting for home birth are generally more educated & prepared. Hombirth Midwives have emergency tools & oxygen & hospitals are generally quite close if an emergency visit is called for. I had a home birth & was a support person for 5 home births & 2 hospital births. The safety of familiar home & established relationship midwife was noticeably extremely more comfortable & relaxed for mother in Labour. I believe more home births with emergency backup prepared our births would be way safer, less traumatic & less emergency cesarean. For sure.

Women and midwives own the right to have and attend homebirths. Stripping them of this will have dire consequences for all affected; mothers, babies, and midwives. There is too much at stake.

After a beautiful, relaxed home birth guided & supported by 2 amazing midwives, I strongly believe that all women have the right to choose the best birthing model for them and their un born babies.

I want to be able to provide safe, professional care to women in the environment that they choose to birth in. If there is open collaboration woman can access safe care.

I have birthed one baby at home and it was absolutely fine. My midwives were brilliant, I have never felt so supported, encouraged or empowered. All women should be able to have the same level of care at home if that is their decision

I support homebirth as an option for all women in Australia with a midwife in attendance. I birthed 2 children at home in 1991 and 1995. A natural birth and safe.

Home births should be encouraged and well supported, it`s the natural from millennia! At least give women a choice of having a safe home options with covered midwives. Hospitals are not always safer... Thank you for your understanding and openness. Prayers and blessings with this petition.
