I've had chickens when I was younger, and I look forward to having 3 or 4 chickens for eggs to use as breakfast and to bake with.

As a rural community, there is no legitimate reason we should not be able to keep a small number of laying hens in city limits. The benefits outweigh the cons. Home raised chickens produce far superior eggs under typically much cleaner and more humane conditions. More people than ever are wanting more sustainable food sources. Acquiring laying hens is literally a baby step toward food security.

As a mom to 6 children, I would love to have chickens to help provide eggs for my kids and to teach my kids how to take care of them and also to save money (we use A LOT of eggs) and if taken care of properly, they make great animals to have and make memories with.

I've thought the ordinance not allowing chickens in town has been silly for years. Put a cap on the amount of hens and no roosters and people should be fine. I'm all for City Chickens! Good luck!

It’s Sheridan. Already has a farm like feel and people here (as long as all rules are followed) should be able to own chickens especially in these times when it seems more important than ever to harvest our own food.
