This store serves many who lack the means to travel further for food and other critical supplies.

Please reconsider the closing of Kroger on S. Limestone. I understand business decisions, profit, and the bottom line but it will be devastating to a community of people that has supported Kroger for many years. By vacating the store and refusing to sell or lease it to a competitor, Kroger is in reality creating a food desert. Frankly there isn’t another area in Springfield that would be hit harder by a grocery store closure than the south end. Many of the families in that neighborhood don’t drive and depend on the close distance for food survival. I shopped at this location for many years. Though I no longer live in the neighborhood, I have been a loyal Kroger shopper my entire adulthood. If the company has abandoned their care for our community, I believe my money will be best spent somewhere else.

This store is always busy, Kroger is crazy for closing it. I drive 10 miles to shop there, I don’t walk well and it’s small size makes it easier for me to navigate and get my weekly needs. They could keep it and just remodel it into a retro looking store. It’s always busy and the staff are awesome!

Do not close this Kroger’s, it’s the only grocery store on that end of town for people that do not have a car to get around.

I know this is a "business decision" - but the community deserves a whole bunch more than the offer of nobody losing their jobs by transfers to other local stores (that is a good start) - it is almost funny (not) that the information put out so far in the reasons for closing are a bunch of gibberish about the Kroger initiative to jump into the internet business and home delivery - the reality of this store's location makes such talk seem disconnected from the real world we all have to live in - very lame so far - people will suffer and likely go hungry because of this!! The good people (assuming there are some good ones there) in Kroger management need to understand and "feel" this and maybe they can come up with something a little better than "tough luck".

This is such a travesty! Our south end needs decent, convenient grocery shopping available.

If the Marketplace proposal will not be reexamined, we need this store to stay open for the needs of the south side neighborhoods

People rely on this store for their most basic needs. Kroger invests millions into newer stores, yet neglects the people of our community who were their most loyal customers. Kroger, you should do the right thing and keep this store open.

This grocery has been a mainstay for the community since the 1960s and is the hart of the south side of Springfield.

This is my "first choice" store for groceries. Please don't desert our neighborhood and make it a food dessert.

Please don’t contribute to food deserts. Instead remodel that location and help those in that community.

I think it is awful to close this store location. This store has been a staple in the community for as long as I can remember. It's convenient and close to home for a lot of us. All the store needs, are major upgrades like the other Kroger locations have been given. Please do not close this store.

Krogers backed out of building a marketplace on the south end of town saying they will keep south limestone krogers open and remodel it now they want to back out of the store completely and leave thousands with no local grocery store to shop at making the already pack store in town even more packed. Keep ower store on s.lime.

The people in the area need a store there. There is so many that don't have cars or the money for busses that only run during the day to get to stores miles away.

There already is so much food insecurity in the Southside of Springfield. Kroger closing not only is a violation of its relationship to the community, it is dangerous to individuals and families.
