We, the undersigned students of KTU, respectfully submit this petition to request a reconsideration of the yearback policy being enforced on certain batches. The implementation of this policy, under the current academic and practical circumstances, is unjust and harmful to the affected students’ academic careers and mental well-being.

Please consider promoting the 22–23 batch without a year back. Many students have faced challenges beyond their control during that academic period.It would be more fair to assess the 22–23 batch with leniency due to academic disruptions and mental health challenges many faced during that time. A year back could severely affect students' careers and morale. Alternative academic solutions should be explored for the 22–23 batch.

Lack of Clear Official Circular on Yearback This is a issue more problematic than we all think

I am extremely disappointed with the way KTU University handled this year back scheme to 2019 students because we didn’t hear this about.The lack of transparency and communication led to unnecessary stress and confusion among students. Moreover, the university's delay in informing us about crucial updates or changes added to our frustration. I hope the university takes our feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements to avoid similar issues in the future, including timely communication and updates.

It is really needed one

Why this university is like this how can a student cover 6month duration semester in less than one month pitty on the university . Even the results are laggy with no proper valuation . This these rules are like this ktu no last long.we are also corona effected batch.so please remove year back system . Don't kill student mentally.then alteast try to do valuation properly . 4 year course is now 2 year course. Don't spoil the life of students.so I kindly request to remove year back system for 2022 and 2023 batches S4 and S6.

I have been facing stress and my mental health has dropped to a drastic low level because of the lack of basic knowledge i needed that couldn’t catchup in during my initial academic period that caused by rush classes by institutions. After all even after my hard-work and sleepless nights the results are tampered by valuation mistakes which I couldn’t afford for revaluation . There must be strict action for it

Request you to cancel the year back system as i have insufficient credits and i want time to improve.

I am a 2019 scheme B.Tech student kindly requesting the cancellation of the credit-based progression rule (21 credits for S5 and 42 credits for S7). Due to the difficulties faced during the COVID-19 period, many students are struggling to meet this requirement. I humbly request the university to consider canceling this rule for 2019 batch students.

I understand the need for academic standards, but the year back system feels too harsh in many cases. There should be a better support system and an option for improvement without losing an entire year. Hope the authorities reconsider this.

KTU's Year back system is truly irrelevant for our B-tech batch due to following reason given in the petition. Please reconsider and provide us with an appropriate decision.

In the case of S4 students, if the yearback rule is strictly implemented, they will face a situation where they may be shifted to a new academic scheme (possibly the 2024 scheme). This shift is highly disruptive, as it will force students to adapt to an entirely different curriculum midway through their education, which is neither practical nor fair.
