When business are trying to get back on their feet the last thing they need is parking charges that will put people off visiting the city. It has no practical benefit, just greed.
It's greedy and no need for it and the expense if it, totally puts me off coming to Manchester

The city council claimed the new parking times have not affected business according to a poll they carried out. I live on Whitworth street, where as once finding a parking place was hard (virtually impossible on a Sunday,) There are now, at any time of the day spaces available. No doubt the council will say more people are using public transport, but its strange all this happened immediately after the new charges came into being.

manchester has become one of the most expensive places to park outside London. I rather go to the Trafford Centre where it's free to park than give money to manchester council

I believe that the 8pm restriction has had a negative impact on restaurants , bars and cinema attentance . Were before people tended to park up straight after work .

There are more and more empty units in town, and the cost of parking is definitely down to this. King Street is a prime example.

My business has declined by almost 20% since the 8pm parking started. Soon I won't have a business left, like so many others in chinatwon.

It drives more & more would be spenders to the Trafford Centre; the idea thAt the new parking restrictions mean more people will come to Mcr is unproven. Meanwhile the Trafford Centre is referred to the traffic centre because of how busy it is.
