Our family loves the Greg Adams Tennis Center! It was one of the biggest draws for our moving to Richmond (from Berea). It is such a wonderful and progressive attraction that is unique to EKU. The community is allowed to have regular access and a sense of "ownership." It is very much a COMMUNITY facility. Our entire family has thrived because of this place. The tennis center provides the whole community with fitness opportunities, tennis training, fun, and social interaction. It would be a tragedy to take this away from the people of Richmond and the surrounding areas.

The Greg Adams Tennis Center is very important to the entire area as a tennis facility, which has impacted the lives of many through the game of tennis. Tennis is a life long activity that is great exercise and builds lasting relationships. The Tennis Center must remain a hallmark for tennis in the area.

As a lifelong resident of Richmond, who learned the game of tennis at The Greg Adams Tennis Center, I implore you to keep the center as is for the Richmond community. Memories of playing high school tennis at Madison Central High School stem from practices and lessons held at the “Greg Adams Building”, as we called it in the ‘80s. My 9yo niece is taking lessons and playing there weekly. Generations have used the building and will continue it. Please allow the community to help in finding solutions to keep the center not only for EKU students, but also for the people of Richmond.

I hope and wish that EKU listens to the community and the kids for once and keep the tennis center.

The Greg Adams Tennis Center is one of the 'crown jewels' of Richmond. It has provided decades of fun, health, and community for all who have used it. Please don't ruin the great opportunities for our families and especially the kids to enjoy the lifetime sport of tennis. On any given night, you can witness kids as young as 8 to adults in their 70s and 80s. My kids and I play at the center about 3-5 times per week. It is rare that you see a sport where people of all ages are getting fit and having fun in one place. With the obesity rates and sedentary lifestyles of Kentuckians, it is imperative that we preserve opportunities for residents to stay active. It is one of the reasons why my husband and I moved to Richmond. We plead with you to not destroy the tennis courts and put in anything else in it's place. It would be devastating to many families. Thank you.

I am a former EKU tennis player and I'd be so bummed if they not only cut the program but also got rid of the tennis center

Recent brain research from Johns Hopkins shows more parts of the brain are being used when playing tennis than another activity. New gray matter and synapses are formed and strengthen when playing tennis. People actual get smarter from playing tennis.....so much so that tennis is now being prescribed to fight Alzheimer's.

Please allow EKU students to enjoy the tennis court. Instead of building buildings build communities!

Re-purposing the Tennis Center for something other than it's original intended use seems like an unwise decision. Most every community in our state is in great need of affordable, fun, and healthy activities for everyone to be active for life. Tennis is an activity that anyone can enjoy very simply and without great expense. To take away this facility is taking away the possibility of teaching generations of young people an activity that could change the trajectory of their health and wellbeing for life. It offers an option to kids that may not enjoy team or non-contact sports, and allows for participation in rain, snow, dark hours, and extreme temperatures. All stakeholders and the broader community should be involved to try to come up with solutions to make the Tennis Center a revenue producing facility prior to re-purposing it without a replacement option.
