Petition ​Regarding the Appointment of the National Librarian/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the National Library of South Africa (NLSA)

This is arrant nonsense

The sanctity of librarian profession must be protected, therefore the appointment of a non librarian will only degrade librarian profession

I strongly oppose this anomaly

It is not possible

It's an aberration for a non-professional librarian to Head a National Library

Non librarians are not meant to occupy the post of National librarian while we have trained professionals in that field

LIS can't be relegated. Anyone who desires to the apex library in South Africa must have LIS background.

The LIS proffession must be respected

Qualified personnel

All the board member of NLSA should be published in 3 national newspapers with their qualifications. A national librarian must be a graduate of library and information science only.

We want a qualified National Librarian

Librarianship is a professional course and National Library of South African MUST be headed by a Professional Librarian .

I suggest a professional in a particular field should lead an organization not a bon professional please.

This is wrong how they did they appoint someone with no qualification

Stop the appointment of a non-librarian (ludicrous) and reinstate LIS qualifications as a requirement. This is blatant corruption!

Let us teach the country to professionalize our career.

For professionalism, a librarian should head the National library.
