One Voice to protect our profession

Let us not bring corruption in the LIS section, we need the qualified person!

We are studying so hard to obtain these qualifications, imagine studying for 3 years and be short listed with someone who has only grade 12.

I sign this because I want only qualified leadership to take charge of NLSA, with hope that the qualified leadership will be fair and employ graduates with LIS qualifications.

Qualification must be taken seriously.

Librarian option for this appointment will be only the solution to maintain also the image of this career/qualification. In most institutions our skills and qualifications are taken for granted. Any person is taken to manage without expertise. This concern must also be cascaded to other departments/institutions. May the spirit of protecting our career be continuous even beyond this present concern.

South Africa has over 10 thousands graduates in library and information science and are unemployed

I am really disappointed about the re-advertiment of the post,even though is a.Management post NLSA suppose to high a qualified librarian with Management qualifications,but not any qualifications can be considered.

We want a qualified professional Librarian for the post of National Librarian

Librarianship must be recognized as a profession and be led by qualified librarians
