Petition ​Regarding the Appointment of the National Librarian/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the National Library of South Africa (NLSA)

The librarianship profession has suffered, please let the round peg be put in the round hole.

I solidly stand against this anomaly...A librarian must head the affairs of the National Library of South Africa.

This is not right as librarians can tell meaningful stories about libraries. Why put a square peg in a round hole. National Library of South Africa is the apex library in SA and play leadership role over all other types of libraries needs a thorough breed professional in LIS to make a huge difference.

Stop corruption and favouritism and hire qualified candidates

Overlooking the relevant qualification is crippling the sector.

Qualified librarian must be hired

In protection of the library and information profession

No to appointment of non librarian to be National labrarian

Integrity and proper procedures should be followed, as well as adhering to legal frameworks.

No to Hiring of unqualified candidates

We need to get people who knows what’s going on

Disregarding the Library profession for a position of that magnitude is not acceptable. Transparency and fairness should be implemented.
