Protect Homeowners from Redundant ARU inspection in Milton, ON

The ARU petition is not required for legal basements. It is a redundant cost borne by residents who own their homes. All the necessities and requirements were followed when the units were created. Please do not change the rules in the middle of the game, and if you intend to do so, be willingly to pay for any additional requirements on your own.

Totally unfair with the those who have already voluntarily made their basement legal,what’s the point of penalizing them again who have already spend too much money in this tough time.please this money trap and inspection.

We are going through tough economic times,please do not impose this burden on us.

We fully support the goal of public safety. However, this by-law is operationally flawed and creates an unfair 'dual tax' on homeowners who have already passed all comprehensive building and fire code inspections. We urge the Mayor and Council to listen to the valid concerns of residents with an open mind, address the by-law's fundamental loopholes, and work with the community to implement a fair and effective solution.
