Petition Of Concerned Neighbors Of 2 Washington Street

We live right on Morris between Washington & West. This is a building FULL of children and families. In fact, a neighborhood full of children and families. There's a preschool right on Washington street. This street is like an alley and a treatment center would be better served on a busy city block where there are lots of people walking around and businesses. This is residential other than the preschool. NOT a good place for a treatment center.

This area is not appropriate for this center. It should be illegal to set up operations in this neighborhood..

Too many young children and teenagers on the streets due to the close proximity of schools and parks, combined with not enough police patrolling (the officers stay at their designated spots near the site and the museum and DO NOT move) and the no end in sight construction in the immediate area, combine to make 2 Washington Street a terrible location for the population this facility will be servicing. This is a heavily residential area with a large number of schools. The elected officials tasked with keeping our community safe need perhaps to take a tour of our neighborhood, as clearly they are unfamiliar with it.

a) the location is next to a daycare center, and a Christian college. b) its a family neighborhood. c) its packed with tourists to the St. of Liberty, 4) there has been scaffolding on that street with dark nooks for years, increasing the ability for bad people to do bad things.

this is mainly a residential area with lots of small kids. we are hugely concerned.

Downtown NYCwas devastated following 9/11. It is now thriving as a residence. It makes no sense to have an ex-convict/drug treatment center within a residential area. I had heard discussion of a similiar plan on Fulton Street which is also a residential area. There are many commerical parts of the City near hospitals that such a facility would be best located. Another logical location would be near the Court houses and precincts which makes so much sense.

This is a terrible idea to put a facility like that in not only an area frequented by families and small children, but multiple schools including one directly next door. Put a stop to this!

This is one of Manhattan's primary family neighborhoods, and almost everyone has children. Introducing an ex-prisoner and drug addict facility would be unacceptably dangerous and invite potential disaster.

This area is a growing residential neighborhood with lots of young children around. Inappropriate location for such a facility. It would have a negative impact on the neighborhood and may hinder continued growth. As a parent who lives nearby, I would not be comfortable with the facility in the neighborhood.

this is one of the fastest growing neighborhood for young families and one where it would be completely inappropriate and unsafe for a facility of this nature
