Petition to Address Excessive Noise from Recently Opened Gun Range

Tired of the constant shooting close to my house by the Sheriff’s Department off Pannell

I am retired from Leggett and we heard it outside every time on break…Terrible..!!

Too much noise pollution!

Nuisance for five hours is unbearable

The noise is a concern but having a gun range in a park where children play and people walk their pets seems to be a very dangerous combination.

I do not understand why anyone would think this is a good idea in this residential area and how this was implemented without any notification to the residents. This magnitude of gun fire will negatively affect our property values and our quality of living in this area.

This is just wrong!

This is unacceptable! I cannot believe this can be done without any notification to the public. Especially the directly surrounding homes.

This is a bad idea since it is near a residential area. As this is a loud activity, it is concerning for the health of those nearby especially their hearing which is impacted with an over 140 db sound.

Why can’t they build this over by the industrial park

This is too close to homes and the youth playing fields it is not safe and will be quite noisy I think

Unacceptable. We moved away from the busy, ever-growing noise of Gwinnett to our current home (that’s across from Criswell Park here in Monroe) for the serenity our subdivision had to offer…something we’ve been able to enjoy for years at this point. Not only will a skeet-shooting range take that away from us, but it will also destroy our ability and value for resale. Construct your shooting range AWAY from established communities. We love our home, the life we’ve built here, and we’re grateful for the neighbors we call friends. Your personal hobby will be at the expense of your fellow Walton County neighbors’ right to simple peace and quiet in their own homes. Think beyond your personal, elective desires and how they will directly affect the well-being of those in your community. There are those of us in our neighborhood who have PTSD and other sensitives to sporadic loud noises. Would YOU want to live across the street from a shooting range where shotgun blasts are going off like cannons that can be heard regardless if you are inside or outside of your home? If not, and if you consider yourself a Christian, love your neighbor as you say you love God and your own family, and stop this from destroying our little slice of joy on this earth. Put yourself in the shoes of others before you act. Enjoy your hobby, and more power to you, but one’s pastime should never be at the expense of their neighbors’ rights and happiness. Stop this project and move it to a location that won’t turn good people’s lives into a nightmare.

I live across from this ball field and the gun noises are loud and stressful. We can barely keep our dogs outside on weekends due to the noise and we are very concerned about our home value. We love our peaceful park!

Too close to residential area, including parks and ballfields of Yvette going on during the weekend and also of a quiet community

The proposed range distance from the ballfields is well over the travel of shotgun loads. It shouldn't be a concern for anyone going to Criswell Park. Do a shallow dive on shotgun ballistics and you'll understand. If you want to complain about thr noise, there's already a private range near this location which backs up to my house and it's not bothersome at all, so what's more for a shotgun range or the noise of ball fields. Either are music to my ears

No gun range. Noise and safety is big concern near home and Criswell Park.

Criswell Park is too close to residential neighborhoods and youth ballpark for shooting range.
