Unless DORA recognizes many naturopathic doctors in good standing, they will be out of work and raise the cost of naturopathic care. This will limit Coloradan's freedom to choose their own healthcare providers. This is more than a healthcare issue- this is a freedom of choice issue. Please sign our petition (by Sunday, 12/15)

Updates

December 16, 2013

The emails from people facing the loss of their livelihoods are piling up and they are heavy to read. Managing these stories has been grueling but I am still pushing to get these providers the recognition they earned.

December 16, 2013

Seeing this momentum grow has been a heavy experience given the hurdles we still have ahead of us. It is exhausting to fight for the right to choose our own care but your commitment keeps me moving forward.

Naturopathic care is crucial to my health and because of the care I have been receiving I am 76 years young and don't so much as have aspirin in my house. This is absurd to even consider this loss of freedom.

My naturopath could answer questions my doctor could not and get me on the healing path. Don't know where I would be without her.

Over six hundred well qualified Naturopathic Doctors may be out of work, and their clients without care, depending on how DORA writes the Naturopathic Doctor regulations. The bill allows you, DORA, the ability to recognize many well qualified Naturopathic Doctors. I urge you, DORA, to write the regulations such that these Naturopathic Doctors don't lose their livelihood and their clients don't go without care.

Naturopathy is non-invasive. The goal is to teach a person how to take responsibility for his own health. There is no threat to personal safety. The right to choose how we handle our bodies is a God given right.

It's SO important, especially in rural areas like mine, that we continue to have access to our naturopaths. Mine is a talented practitioner who has helped me immensely and has been practicing for 20 years. He and others like him need to be grandfathered in.

I want to be as free as possible from being over-regulated. Let me choose my own doctor freely. I want to be able to choose a naturopathic doctor if it should benefit my health. The medicines I'm taking are full of side effects.
