It has come to our attention that the NCHSAA has decided not to renew Mr. Tom McKimmey as a Booking Agent for the 2013-2014 school year. The reasons behind this action, from what we have learned, is not "coming up to speed" with technology and too many instances of games/matches not being covered. We dispute each of these allegations. We are completely and fully integrated into the Arbiter system. All our assignments arrive via email. Other information is supplied by cell phone or text messages. Emails are quickly answered. As to the allegation of games not being assigned or covered, unless the assigned official experienced some trouble or personal issue (which Mr. McKimmey has no control over) there is no documented instance of a game or match not having officials assigned.

Mr. McKimmey wants to work one more year after this current school year in order to have 35 years of service to the NCHSAA and high school sports in North Carolina. He fully intends to retire after the 2013-2014 season.

We, the undersigned, are requesting that the NCHSAA approve this request and renew Mr. McKimmey as a Booking Agent for softball, baseball, volleyball and soccer for the 2013-2014 school year.

Updates

September 29, 2012

Tom has spent decades dedicated to these sports and he truly deserves the chance to reach his thirty-five year milestone before retiring. I have been spending my time documenting his actual performance records to disprove these unfair claims about his technical skills. We are preparing to present this evidence to the administration because his reputation deserves to be protected.

Seeing this level of support for Tom reminds me why he deserves to finish his career on his own terms. Watching the community rally around his years of dedication makes me hopeful that the board will finally listen.

Ridiculous. He has been around forever and knows more about this than anyone. Technology isnt everything.

Unbelievable. Let him reach his goal. 35 years is a long time to just get pushed out like this.
