Petition Governor Pat McCrory to opt-out of Common Core state education standards

Common Core is damaging our children. Our kids aren't common and don't all learn the same.

I don't want my children learning by Common Core Standards. My child has done a180 from loving school the last 2 years to hating it this year. Only thing that has changed is the standards. They are age inappropriate and not for our children!

Get it out. NOW!

Common Core is proving to be bad for our children in every way, dumbing American education down further, teaching a lack of moral behavior at early ages, causing mental stress in young children, causing parental stress as well in families who are trying to help their children learn and understand what they are learning. All this under a guise that all children will be on the same page nationally. Children need to learn to think for themselves. Not be lead to think one way only, to regurgitate information. Many are hating school at early ages. The love of reading for enjoyment is being lost. I can list more and more ills to this Govt. induced program. Like the Govt. approach to health care, we won't know the results or the cost until it is too late. Please stop this cancer on our children and families in NC. I do not want a mediocre educational system in NC. We want our own standards. There have been many excellent state standards, like those of Mass. that we can look into as a model. Regretfully these have been abandoned for this poor quality of progressive hog wash. Let NC become better, not worse by OPTING OUT OF COMMON CORE.

Pls opt out of common cor. It is dummy down our children. I voted for you in the last election. If you do not stand against Common Core get it out of our school systems you have lost my vote. Thank you for taking the time to read my comments.

I voted for you and I am so disappointed to see you standing behind common core. If you continue to ignore parents and let our kids be used and abused in the school I will not vote for you ever again. I also will try to get no one I know to ever vote for you as well. Turn around and do what's right for our children and families.
