Petition Governor Pat McCrory to opt-out of Common Core state education standards

Please do what is right for our children and STOP Common Core!!

Common Core Standards does not have a place in North Carolina public schools.

The federal government intrudes enough on my life, they don't need to data mine my childs life from start to finish. Will not support McCrory ever again.

I am adamantly opposed to giving Washington bureaucrats the ability to dictate the direction of North Carolina's public schools. They should not be allowed to indoctrinate our children with their version of history, values, etc. Remove Common Core Standards from North Carolina Schools!

Common Core needs to be eradicated. There is a better more smarter way.

Please do not support National standards and curriculum in NC Schools.

Get NC and its kids out of Common Core! It is dangerous and dumbing down our children! It makes no provisions special needs education kids like mine and they are getting further behind!

Please stop common core. It is absurd and damaging our children! Get it out of NC.

Please consider saying NO to Common Core standards and curriculum in our schools. Our children are unique and learn in different ways. Common Core has one standard, one way to learn. I feel this will affect them academically as well as socially. I also find Common Core unconstitutional because threats of funding being denied. This isn't good for the students, teachers, administrators. Thank you for your time.

Please rethink all of this. Our children and grandchildren deserve better.

Stop it!! My kids aren't common!!

After many hours of research and spending time in classrooms, I can see this isn't going to work. Children think so differently. We can't expect every child to learn the same! They are not clones. All of this and not to mention some of the inappropriate reading materials make common core a huge mistake for North Carolina!!

Please put an end to this brainwashing of our children to the socialist way of life and start teaching them the basics without building a personal file on them! Capitalism is not evil but encourages personal responsibility!

Stop the experimentation on my child.

We train our teachers, screen our teachers, supervise our teachers. At what point can we trust them do their job, teach. Have we not learned teaching to test doesn't work? No, we went "in for a penny, in for a pound". Be your own man and quit following the band wagon. That's why I voted for you.

Any system that wants to do away with the teaching of cursive script has an agenda which at some point is to rewrite the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. If know one can read the original document, who ever is in charge can interpret it any way they see fit!

Common Core is nothing more than a govnt take over of education. It has no research to back up this curriculum. I will exercise my rights as a parent to refuse these tests. The material I am seeing is nothing shirt of indoctrination and a false report on events both current and past. This is the USA and if you feel you don't or won't represent the people that elect you why don't you step down and move yourself to a communist country. I refuse to love under governmental control.

Please stop the dumbing down of our children. Common Core does not teach true history, create a strong English foundation, challenge them mathematically, or adequately prepare our children for the international market. I want more for my son, nieces, and America as a whole. Don't you?
