There are very innapropriate books, too innapropriate to be read aloud in classrooms, included in the list of suggested/recommended books within Common Core....stop these inappropriate books which were written by pedophilias to try to normalize a victim mentality of silence, acceptance of rape, incest and molestation, and the deathstyle that is practiced by these perverted individuals from being sent home with our school-aged children by STOPPING the infiltration of the population-control-freak (Bill and Melinda Gates) funded Common Core Curriculum. Send all of the Gates' and Obama's money back, telling them that North Carolina parents, including myself, want nothing to do with a deathstyle teaching, dumbing-down, curriculum that calls for intrusive testing and data collecting which negates the Constitutional truth: that all people were CREATED equal. Replace the lies and inappropriate dumbing down material with something children desperately need to learn, the soul-saving TRUTH found only in God's word, (The Holy Bible). Use the King James Version in all grade levels as this actually helps them to excel to a twelfth grade reading level!

Gov. McCrory - you are losing your base and the ones who worked for you -day by day. Most of us are Conservative and becoming very active. Please talk to Lt. Gov. Dan Forest and /or his Chief of Staff - Hal Weatherman. It would be good to talk to Senator Joyce Krawiec or perhaps Mark Walker's Campaign Chair, Julie Eamon. I would love to speak with you and give you the pulse of the grassroots. Thank you for listening and for asking.

Common core is a mess, and it needs to be thrown out before the next school year! All of my friends and acquaintances, feel the same way. Additionally, it has really messed things up for people taking the GED, high school students, home schooled students, and teachers! Please act Now!

Common Core, Systems Learning whatever you call it is a bad wrap for our kids. Localized approaches to teaching with heavy parent involvement is want we need. Not top on down approaches with everyone measured by the same inferior standard.

Common core is an effort to further "Dumb Down" our children. The ultimate goal is to create slack brained robots, voting for whatever the Power Elite of either party want.

My 9th grader has not had a math textbook in 2 years. She is frustrated, so am I, and the teachers that I have spoken with are also. This is no way to treat our kids. Send the Fed money back - or whatever is required - and let's get back to NC planning our own education for our students. If you don't have a child being used as a guinea pig in this situation, you just don't "get it" ! :(

NC has some of the best colleges in the US. The state of NC is quite capable of setting competitive standards for the children of NC. Please don't let go of the freedom to choose the best standards and curriculum for the children of NC.

I agree with all the comments listed, all of which I would've listed as to why NC NEEDS TO EXIT RACE TO THE TOP BRIBE $$$$ AND DO WHAT'S BEST FOR THE CHILDREN OF NC rather than special interests. THE ADOPTION OF THE COMMON "standards" in NC in order to be controlled by the federal government by the $$$$ bribe race to the top grant is COMPLETELY INCONSTITUTIONAL, ILLEGAL, AND IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF NORTH CAROLINA!! You have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and to represent the best interests of the constituents of North Carolina, and common core is the antithesis of this! Well, I could write a book on the reasons why common core is so destructive: untested (our children are guinnee pigs), developmentally inappropriate standards, treats children as a number on a test rather than being concerned about their love of learning or educating them, teachers are reduced to test administrators rather than educators, our children's privacy laws have been weakened by Obama under FERPA in order to collect all the data mining which North Carolina has adopted to give to the federal government, all my children's private protected information is being mined and shared with the government along with private surveys the kids are given before EOG tests, taking away ALL parental rights & child privacy, subjecting kids to inordinate testing which steals their instructional time, and most importantly their learning/education. The math curriculum is completely asinine, makes no logical sense to people who are in the math field and does nothing but frustrate children and make them hate math when they previously loved it. One truly has to wonder if this is a sinister intention within common core because it makes absolutely no sense why any person would develop this type of math curriculum unless they were trying to make children hate math! As a parent of three children in North Carolina public schools, I have personally witnessed not only the deterioration of curricul

I've seen the "common core" questions posted all over the web and talked to parents whose children are being subjected to Common Core. The practices are confusing and the questions are either offensive or intrusive. An answer to one question was "An individual's wants are less important than the nation's well-being." This statement is indoctrination into socialist bull crap. We all know if the individual's wants and needs are met, then the country as a whole is better. A happy and healthy mother makes a happy and healthy family.

Inner city schools have been total failures in math, STEM & English. Government run schools in general are a failure.

Why Commom Core? This is education at it's worse.....we learned by NC standards and our children and Grandchildren should be learning by NC standards, not by a Federal government standards, considering the fact that the Federal Government cannot balance a budget or anything else, how can they be allowed to set standards for the children......

Common Core will hurt NC now and well into the future by not properly preparing a workforce which needs reasoning skills, the ability to apply knowledge of proper arithmetic and astute reading comprehension.
