Petition Governor Pat McCrory to opt-out of Common Core state education standards

Am so disappointed that this program was allowed in our schools to begin with. Our grandchildren need to be given the very best our schools can offer not this dumb down trash.

Please sign HB 1061 and put the education of our children back in the hands of our teachers and citizens of NC.

Gov McCrory please get communism out of our schools!

Governor McCrory, I encourage you to assist the General Assembly in opting North Carolina out of Common Core. While I agree that the standards set forth in CC do undermine local and state control in the education of our children, I disagree that they force the use of progressive curricular. While it is true that most of the curriculum that has been produced is progressive, not all of it is. It just so happens that the progressive curriculums are being used by school districts, by and large.

Please get rid of Common Core.

Please pass House Bill 1061 as a first step! This is important to me as a former educator in NC for 10 years and a homeschool educator for the past 13 years.

Please use common sense and stop common core education. It is bad for students and teachers.

I don't agree with my kids learning something or in away that I am not able to assist them with or at less get them resources to help them with it and my son's school has told me I will not be able to help him since I was taught in a different way than he is being taught today .

I support families and teaching professionals to teach what is best for our children. Mastery, of subjects learned, as well as a solid foundation in the classics has been a beautiful base of knowledge for hundreds of years. Please don't underestimate the young people of this time!

Changing a name does nothing to change the standards and or testing mandates. Common Core is the ObamaCare of education. Our/My children and grandchildren deserve better.

Common core is ruining my children. They used to love learning, and all 4 of them hate going to school now.
