Petition for Warner Bros. to release deleted footage of Rik Mayall as Peeves from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Final supporters
Peeves the Poltergeist was a mischievous ghost character from the Harry Potter universe that made many jokes towards the students of Hogwarts. Though the character never made an appearance in any of the Harry Potter movies despite appearing in all 7 of the books, he was originally meant to appear in the 1st film played by Rik Mayall, and 1 or 2 scenes were actually filmed of him. Sadly though, Rik's scenes were cut from the film, and have never been released by Warner Bros. in any form as of February 2015, 14 years after the film was released. After the death of Rik Mayall last year, it only seems appropriate now to have these scenes released to the public. This petition has been made to persuade Warner Bros. to show us the footage that many fans of the Harry Potter franchise have wanted to see for years.

I love Rik Mayall's work, and it made sense to cast him as Peeves, just s shame we never got to see it! I only think it's right to release it, especially as Rik had to go through a lot to get his scenes actually filmed, just for them to cut his part out! They did it with many good scenes, i.e the rest of Harry's potion class. But the scenes with Peeves is deffiantly what we wanna see, and it'll be another thing we can have as a memory of Rik!
No idea why it was cut in the first place, Rik stole the show in everything he appeared in. His fans need to see this.
I love Rik Mayall and I would love to see these scenes of the great British comedy actor. Please release them.
Rik was a legend and it is seriously annoying that wb is still sitting on this footage. just put it out already!
Absolute shame we never got to see his take on Peeves. Would have been iconic.
Need to see this
He is so missed, I wish we could watch this....

I'm glad to have found this petition as there may be other underlying reasons for the scenes not being released onto DVD. Such deleted scenes should only add more entertainment value to an already great movie
