Petition for Vote of No Confidence in Royal College of Physicians Leadership

The leaders of the RCP have a duty to represent their members, NOT to just kowtow to the political imperatives of the current government. The RCP is supposed to safeguard patients and maintain and improve standards, not knowingly support project that dumb down patient care and that endanger patients. The RCP leadership should hang their heads in shame and should do the honourable thing and resign!

At the right time the leaders of the Royal College of Physicians will be sued personally. This is not another misstep or mistake, this is done deliberately on behalf of others and with malign intent.

A fulminantly corrupt disgrace of a college. Its engagement in long-term gas-lighting, misdirection, and outright lying to both the medical profession (which includes only doctors, not PAs) and the public cannot be excused any further. Both doctors and the public are at danger from the wanton mis-deployment of Assistants for politically-driven reasons, for the convenience of NHS executives and some consultants who only care for their own workload and departmental service provision. This is a dangerous and delusional project for which the College has very evidently taken - and continues to take - contractual financial reward. Money this corrupt organisation and is unwilling to surrender either for ethical reasons or to pivot to do its actual role and support physicians in training. Doctors languish in worthless 'training programmes' for years of post-graduate time, unnecessarily rotating and performing administrative tasks for the comfort and convenience of the NHS and consultants - meanwhile this shambles of a college with its actions actively promotes (regardless of how they make empty promises to the contrary) minimally trained replacements into substantive posts in departments where they can then monopolise the actual medical roles those doctors need to be performing - because they obviously then form an investment for trust and department. A scouring of senior leadership is needed, and a complete overhaul of voting laws and membership engagement to follow.

As a medical student, I feel completely let down by the RCP, an institution which should be championing doctors for the best care possible for our patients

The RCP should be supporting fully qualified doctors, not working to undermine them with 'associate' roles.

The whole ethics and conduct of RCP who have imposed their agenda I’ll thought on all the other specialties is bad enough. But the conduct at the meeting - ignoring the membership, dishonest stats , pompous hubris, and a huge insult to hard earned medical careers all round

People living in Ivory towers never seem to understand the problems of grassroot workers and never feel the heat of the coalface and are into just feathering their nests .

PAs should be let nowhere near patients or their records or have any involvement in anything that leads to diagnosis, prescription, triaging, or anything that involves a patient.

Due to poor leadership NHS has done to dogs. Doctors (GP)are not are not treating the patients with respect . You are a number for them

Nobody would say a second year medical student seeing patients alone without supervision is safe, so why are we letting PAs do it?
