I agree with the other comments. I have lived in Wellesley almost 15 years and too see the traffic and speed increasing. All of us in the neighborhood have enjoyed many walks and biking through the years. It is now becoming unsafe with increasd traffic and speed. There are few cars that actually do the posted speed.

I agree that the speed limit is too high. There is too much pedestrian traffic on that road. I think that the 35mph speed limit leads to people driving over the speed limit on rutgers as they turn off park terrace. People routinely drive over 35 on rutgers and it is dangerous.

I have almost been hit from behind while in my car turning left onto Rutgers Drive.

35 is not a safe speed for this road. It is nearly impossible to cross the road at any point during the day. I live in the first subdivision and people are either inches from my bumper when I turn into the neighborhood or they speed up and pass on the left. Very dangerous!

Our small 10pd dog was hit almost 2 years ago; we feel very lucky that she survived. But, it could have easily ended much worse. The speed should be 25mph.

I would love to see the speed limit lowered here. As an avid walker, I use the new crosswalk everyday at Rutgers and cars still do not even slow down here never mind stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk! Maybe if they were going a little slower they would notice - we have far too many children in our neighborhood at risk of these unsafe, always in a hurry drivers!

Hey government worker guys: this is a no brainer; the current MPH 35 means drivers go 42; too fast for that stretch; get it done; reduce the mph
There in virtually never a time when I do not see, runners, walkers, dog walkers, children riding bikes, etc. on Park Terrace. When I try to slow down, somebody is riding my tail, but I don't care, because I'm going to be cautious and careful in the community in which I live, to try and make sure no one is accidentally injured by my car. This idea is long overdue. It's ashame we can't install speed bumps as well- if we could- all the better. But that's a fireline from what I've been told? Anyway- PLEASE pass this!! Thank you.

The speed limit should definitely be 25 mph. It's a neighborhood with a lot of young kids. I sincerely hope it won't take a tragic accident before the county takes action. Please take the appropriate action now.

I am a veterinary neurologist that recently cared for a Beagle that was hit by a car on Park Terrace 10 days ago. She suffered severe head trauma, but thankfully was lucky enough to survive. I am new to the area and my family happens to live off Park Terrace on the other side of Lauderdale. I have two elementary school-aged children and I frequently run and bike on this road and have been amazed that the speed limit is 35 mph. My father recently visited and referred to the "road where the cars drive very fast" and I assumed he meant Gayton, but he was referring to Park Terrace. It is a residential neighborhood and there is no reason that the speed limit should be more than 25 mph.

Please allow our children to cross the street safely and lower the speed limit on Park Terrace. Trying to cross the street when exiting Huntwick Ct is difficult, but returning from the sidewalk back into Huntwick is just plain dangerous. Please lower the speed limit to 25 mph, but If that cannot be done, consider addign speed humps or add sidewalks on the opposite side fo Park Terrace so that we can safely walk to a cross walk and cross the street.

We cannot even walk our dog safely on our street - as soon as we get to Park Terrace all the speeders zoom through to cut across toward North Gayton as their through-way .... This is no longer a residential neighborhood but rather a passing ground for cars in a busy area and it is quite dangerous for our families.

Several years ago we decided the only safe way to leave Lockport was to make a right towards Lauderdal...making a left was so scarey as cars appear around the curve in a blink of an eye! Even making a right has it's risks. When I travel on Glen Gary Dr. I take notice of the 15 and 25 mph speed signs Plus the addtional $200 fine... maybe that might help our situation.

Several years ago we decided the only safe way to leave Lockport was to make a right towards Lauderdal...making a left was so scarey as cars appear around the curve in a blink of an eye! Even making a right has it's risks. When I travel on Glen Gary Dr. I take notice of the 15 and 25 mph speed signs Plus the addtional $200 fine... maybe that might help our situation.

This is an unsafe stretch for the posted speed limit . With the amount of bikers, walkers, runners, and children moving in and around this stretch of road the speed limit should be lowered to a more reasonable level.

1 new cross walk was put in this year. But no signs or flashing lights were added. On several occasions we have almost been run over in the cross walk by cars who are not paying attention and driving too fast. Dropping the speed limit and using the radar signs would be a huge help. I understand the hesitation on speed bumps as they slow emergency vehicles too. But enforcing a lower speed limit sound like an excellent suggestions and should be the standard for Park Terrace which is a neighborhood street.

I agree that conditions are especially dangerous on Park Terrace between Three Chopt and Lauderdale, but the western loop of Park Terrace is also dangerous. Walking at night is incredibly dangerous due to the lack of street lights in addition to the traffic that pushes the speed limits on the smooth, wide road. I hope we can work together to ensure Wellesley remains a desirable, pedestrian-friendly place to live. It needs to be done BEFORE something tragic happens.

I have been nearly hit twice crossing this stretch of road. Drivers are going way above the speed limit and also do not observe the cross walks. Wellesley as an entire neighborhood has become a cut through. The speed limit for Park Terrace throughout the entire neighborhood (both sides of Lauderdale) needs to be lowered. Langtree is continuing to have speeders even with the increased fine signs. Signs alone won't do it. The speed bumps or digital signs are deifniely needed.

We noticed this issue when we moved in a year and a half ago. Our house backs up to Park Terrace, and it is clear that the limits are not followed. Even pulling out of the neighborhoods can be dangerous. We sent a letter to Henrico County about a year ago requesting a traffic study and/or speed bumps or increased police presence, but we received no response. It is very clear that this change is very necessary for the safety of all residents and pets.
