This event provides an important cultural experience for diverse school and community groups across Oxford. It has developed over the years to become an important occasion when people from all over the city are brought in to the city centre and applauded for their creative art work. This is a rare moment when disadvantaged groups including many young people can be given a positive experience and a lasting memory. The previous year's successes should be acknowledged by a secure future for this event.

The Oxford Christmas Light festival was a highlight of last years winter festivities. A well organised and entertaining weekend for all the family. The Lantern Parade is one of the most magical parts of the event, it would be a real shame to see this go.

This is a typically arrogant government opinion. Tourism is a valurable commodity. Asaparticipant in last year's event many customers came from outside of Oxfordshire as well.

This was one of my favourite nights in the year I spent in Oxford. Shows who the council's really interested in supporting, and just how out-of-touch Oxford colleges are.

Young people in every city, but especially Oxford need to feel ownership of the place they live! This event had a role to play in this really important part of growing up in Oxford.

Pedestrianise half of St. Giles, according to the plans of the Oxford Pedestrians Association, and there won't be any problems in using the space.
