Exactly how much tourism must this raise? Our shopkeepers need support from events like this. Stop this miserly attitude. This commuter is pleased that at least the hold ups are worthwhile for once for an event like this!

I was lucky enough to be able to have a cabin at this 3 day event. of all the big Christmas events I do in LOndon and and other places this event was the busiest, most enjoyable atmospheric of them all.

I've listened to the arguments about disruption and road closure costs but there must be a sensible way to maintain the community experience of the procession for those hundreds of Oxford children and their families and the cultural zing of the evening. Come on Oxford : you can do this.

The Oxford Light Festival is a night of celebration for young people and their families. The Lantern Parade is an occasion where local people can inhabit their city streets, where, in fact, they have as much right to tread, as the great and good of Oxford University.

This was one of the best, most culturally engaged, most community engaged things to happen in Oxford in a very long time. The100,000 visitors during this event are as much stakeholders in the future of this city as the many others involved in thia international-quality festival.
