While I am not a mormon, I do believe that Reid is 110% guilty of not having any morals and since he has used his position to lie and distort for his own benefit, he should not only be excommunicated, he should be ousted from his government position and also be charged with treason to the people of the US, extortion, etc.

The creators of this petition are in a word twatwaffles. I am a member of the LDS Church and this is the singular most asinine thing I have ever seen in regards to the LDS Church. One does not get voted out of the LDS Church.
A few points. 1.Spending bills originate in the House of Representatives, so go excommunicate speaker Boenher. 2. The Fed is a secret combination? Go take a reality pill. 3. Whoever thought up this petition knows diddly about the LDS Church and how it works. You are an embarrassment to the Church. 4. I would just like to take a moment to tell my Republican and Libertarian and Tea Party LDS brothers and sisters that happen to agree with this petition to go choke on you PoGP's. I am a proud liberal progressive Democrat LDS member in good standing and ya'll just suck a big one.

Harry Reid's conduct should not ne condoned by the LDS Church. If the Church does not discipline him on his actions and life style, they are guilty of hypocrisy.

All politicians should be held to a higher standard. But no church can allow members to sin so obviously, deliberately and publicly. The church's reputation is at stake.

I agree, Harry Reid is a disappointment. Where much is given, much is expected - he was granted a position of power to not only represent the people, but, I believe to also be valiant and represent what is right (and to expel what is wrong) and people who have mentioned this is correct - he has tarnished the good name of the church. But as a few others have also stated, it is not our role or within our power to judge and say that he should be "excommunicated," this is between him and the Lord, with the assistance of his bishop, high council and stake president. he However, he could even lie to them and get away with it. Everyone who has been offended by his actions (or inaction's) needs to remember that he will someday have to stand before the Lord and be judged and he won't be able to lie to him -- as we have heard so many times from the pulpit at conference and in our local meeting houses - "Mercy cannot rob justice."
