Petition for the Excommunication of Senator Harry Reid

I'm afraid this petition will not hold with those who have the power to excommunicate Harry Reid. It's a shame to say this but the amount of money he gives up to the church will sway any reasonable,or justifiable decision. Hope I'm wrong though.

Harry Reid is not honest with his fellow-men. In public or in business. Out of his own mouth these things can be proven. He damages the reputation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints around the world. I have six sons that are on missions or will serve missions and four daughters. Questions are being asked to them about this man. He makes war upon his fellow Saints even Cliven Bundy.

Obviously he does not resonate with the high values of the Mormon faith.

This piece of human excrement is an absolute abomination. As a member I am absolutely discusted with him and the church leadership for not getting off of there complacent asses and booting this absolutely horrible human being out!! He has and is usurping our Constitution which is unforgivable. Ezra Taft Benson wouldn't have tolerated this. Stop being cowards and show some backbone. I'm embarrassed for you. Does the Mormon church keep Harry Reid only because he is a Mormon and what he can do for them ? He is sure doing a lot to hurt people around the world, animals, and not living to what the scriptures. Nevada is hurting badly or don't you care ? I have ancestors who were hurt...but were not MORMONS or doesn't your church care. Your church doesn't show Christianity !!!

He should be excommunicated for funding abortion with tax dollars, and forcing everyone else to do it through Obamacare.

As a member of the LDS Church and a worthy Temple Recommend holder, I feel Harry Reid should be investigated by the Stake Presidency over his home ward.

I can't be a member of a church who would not excommunicate evil minions like Harry Reid. I know people excommunicated for far less what the hell people?!! And this site won't accept email addresses hmmmm I wonder?!!!

Senator Reid is a thief as shown by what happened in Nevada. Your suppose to represent the people. Just because here is a law does not mean it is a just law. If a law is unjust it is your job Mr. Reid to stand for the people. You political positions fly in the face of everything the Church stands for. You should be excommunicated.

I really think that it's about time for Senator Harry Reid to face the people that he's lied and stolen from as a senator. He is a black eye especially to the Mormon church but to all of Christianity. He should be shamed in this way with excommunication. Harry Reid is disgusting, greedy, mean spirited, arrogant and thinks he's above the law.

Politically motivated nonsense bordering on apostasy. People do not get excommunicated because of petitions. This is between Reid and his stake leaders, and the Lord and everyone else needs to back off. "You don't have to be Mormon to sign this petition." Good grief. It's terrifying to think that non-Mormons could have any role whatsoever to play in stripping someone of their Church membership. Put yourself in Reid's position for a moment: would you rather be condemned by the ignorant and hateful, mostly for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with your faith, or would you rather be treated with the mercy and love that the Savior offers through the Atonement? Prove to me that Harry Reid has committed adultery or is engaged in homosexual acts. Prove to me that Harry Reid doesn't wear his temple garments or otherwise dishonors his covenants. Prove to me that Harry Reid has come out against the Church's teachings and demanded radical changes to our doctrine as Ordain Women or the pro-gay marriage agitators have. Prove to me that Harry Reid doesn't pay his tithing, or follow the Word of Wisdom. Better yet, don't prove it to me: prove it to his bishop and stake president, or to the General Authorities of the Church. If you can't do that, then you're no better than the people who refused to sustain the First Presidency at General Conference. Arrogant, dishonorable, judgmental Pharisees with an agenda of their own far removed from Gospel principles. You don't get to deprive someone of their eternal salvation and exaltation just because you don't agree with their politics. You are not God. Stop trying to be Him. Shame on EVERY SINGLE MORMON who signs this petition. Whatever Harry Reid may have done, you have already made yourself worse.

Yay, let's sign this petitions and divide that Kingdom of God in the manner that the Book of Mormon warns us about!

Everyone who has signed this petition needs to re-evaluate their priorities. If Reid is deserving of ex-communication then his local leaders will see to it. The Lord does not pay attention to petitions.

I am composing similar petitions to excommunicate Mitt Romney and Glen Beck, and to ask the the 12 to invite President Obama to get baptized. Any takers?

This is really icky. And scary. Have we become so political, so full of hate, so self-righteous that we would condemn another saint simply because he supports a viewpoint many of us disagree with? Are we that intolerant? That small? That un-Christ like? So liberals are wicked and of the devil? Really. Now who's giving the church a black eye?

I assume that since this petition started around April 1st that it is one big April Fools joke, right? Any church leaders that actually read this petition will get a big laugh out of it but otherwise essentially ignore it. Other than that nothing will come of it. I doubt that this was drafted by any serious member of the church since they don't know how to write the name of the church correctly. But if you really are serious all I can say is, "judge not that ye be not judged".
