Petition for the 55 and over league to revert back to evening and weekend scheduled matches.

Absolutely ridiculous that 55+ is expected to play during the weekday when a large number of people still work

To difficult reschedule matches. Is there a time of year where we wouldn’t have so much competition for courts? This has been too difficult for captains

This has been such a hardship on our captains. Difficult for play and practice since overlaps 18+ season.

I could/would never play let alone captain if it was a daytime 55+ league.

I have a day job.

Hard on captains, more work for them to reschedule matches. No team camaraderie with a flex league.

The current format is very problematic; much too time consuming for all involved, including captains, players, and facility managers. There is no opportunity for socializing with team members, which is a big part of recreational tennis. I will not participate again unless this league is conducted like others -- evenings and weekends.

USTA is preempting these efforts already. Dear Players and Captains, We hope you are enjoying your 2023 Adult 55 & Over Local league. After sending a survey , earlier in the year and receiving many responses, over 70 % responded positively to running this league during the day. We listen to our players and try to schedule league matches at times when the majority of players can participate and we have courts available. Did you know that in each region of the Southwest Section we schedule 46 divisions of different local leagues each year? In order to offer more league types, especially age divisions, we must work with our partners to secure courts and schedule matches at times when those courts are available. This does not work for everyone, but local league times of play are communicated to all captains before schedules are posted. We will continue to offer as many new league formats and utilize day-time play , especially age related divisions, so we can schedule more matches for you to play with your peers, Good luck with the rest of your season. The whole fun of playing on a tennis team is hanging out and cheering everyone on. I will not be signing up for this league when I turn 55 unless I can play at the same time as my teammates, which would have to be outside of work hours.

Hard to enforce the "flex" scheduling rules, and puts too much onus on captains to arrange.

I agree with this petition and support going back to the previous format

I Love the games to be during the day and weed days. Leave it the way it is please.

We are at the tail end of the 55+, long enough to know that this day time schedule was not a success. If I would have known up front the way this was going to be played out, I would have not signed up. The captains ended up doing all the scheduling, something they we pay USTA to do. I felt as if our team was split up because I never got to play a match with them. I am a thumbs down for the day schedule.

It is very difficult for me to play in the matches since I work during the week. I much prefer evening and weekend matches.

When the survey came out, I thought that there would be "some" weekday matches, not all.

I vote for no week day matches.
