Petition for Safety Improvements at High Knob Entrance (Route 55 and High Knob Road), Warren County, Virginia

My wife and daughter were all n a bus accident here a few years back. It’s a dangerous intersection.

This improvement needs to happen now.

My son lives in high knob and it is a very dangerous place. I worry about my family all the time. Something needs to. E done

This intersection is completely unsafe, something needs to be done.

I commute home to Front Royal on 55 every day. I have to anticipate a stop and turn on my hazards as I pass high knob, in hopes that someone behind me sees me slowing down to stop for someone turning in front of me. I am always nervous of this intersection and support safety measures for more safety precautions at High Knob entrance.

Please act now. This is a serious issue. Loss of lives is preventable.

This turn-off has endangered Warren County residents like me for far too long.

This intersection has been far more dangerous than it needs to be for far too long.

I was involved in an accident here last year as I was turning left into high knob. A young gentleman came over the hill fast, not paying attention and slide into the standing still car behind me, then a 3rd car who wasn't paying attention, shot around us 3 on the shoulder and ditch ripping its cars bumpers and underside to pieces. Still today I sweat bullets turning into the property.

A westbound left turn lane has been needed since I moved into High Knob in 2001. The potential for fatal accidents is only getting worse with the increasing use of this route to Front Royal and neighboring towns and attractions.
