Having both a west and east bound turn lanes off 55, as well as lowering the speed to 45 would make huge improvements. The stop light, I am conflicted on, coming from blind curves on both side, my feeling is they would be run, but it certainly deserves a study to see if it would be truly helpful. It's been far too dangerous for far too long.!

While living on this road for 5 years I was always concerned about driving past this particular spot, improvements desperately need to be made.

We need to lower our speeds and stop throwing our trash on others property. Start considering others.

This has been a dangerous area for years. I avoid 55 during rush hour times because of it. Unfortunately, it seems the county hasn’t been willing to do anything effective to improve safety and it will likely take something tragic to turn their attention to it. I’d like to see them be proactive versus reactive on this. All signs and evidence point to this being a very unsafe intersection and given the county’s growth, this will only get worse if something isn’t changed.

This would be a big help. I do not live in High Knob but travel 55 frequently and have had many close call at this intersection. Even for those that stop safely the potential to get rear ended is great. A turn lane would be of great help.

This issue has been revisited more than once. A turn lane is the best solution for this problem. A traffic light will not be seen going westbound until it is almost too late.

If Front Royal is going to be a destination, the hospital has moved as well as our children’s safety on & off school buses, we are going to have to widened 55.

Independent turn lane in West bound lanes is a must. Not in favor of a stop light at all.

My daughter was coming from linden stopped in traffic for a left turn car. Was rear ended by a large truck. Totaled new her car. Thank goodness they were ok. Bad place needs to be fixed somehow!

This has been an extremely unsafe location since I can remember - I moved here in 1986. Rumble strips and speed limit signs are NOT enough. Those travelling 55W can't see until the last minute when the peak the hill and by then, it's too late. Warning signals ahead of time and an actual traffic light or turn lanes into High Knob would be helpful.

My family has driven this road for the past 5 years since we live in Front royal. It's a regular occurrence to have to slam on your brakes coming over the hill at the high knob entrance weather you're doing the speed limit or not. The rumble strips help but by no means do they slow drivers down. This intersection into the neighborhood is very dangerous.

I commute on this road every day and it’s dangerous. I have personally rendered aid at two separate, serious accidents. Something MUST be done ASAP.

How many people have to get injured or worse before major improvements are done.

I drive Rt 55 every Monday through Friday. A light is a necessity. I can’t believe there’s no turning lane or light.

As a resident of linden for 15 years, that area is ridiculously dangerous. I have seen accidents, I’ve seen accidents be voided but it is dangerous.

I'm agree that some changes has to be done in this manner.
