Petition for Revision of Biometric Attendance Policy for Full-Time Ph.D. Scholars

If they are implementing this rule then they have to strict on it , that research fellow should not come to their respective departments expect these hours or holidays. Why are they expecting us to come on Saturday and other holidays.

Plz remove the biometric of evening

If IITR officials are doing this then they should apply it 100% like after 5.30 pm all the departments should be shutdown completely and every Saturday Sunday and official holiday must be a holiday and the respective guide wouldn't call their scholars to come to the lab during these period.

There should be one time attendance in a day ....no for Saturday

This is totally unnecessary, It will create more pressure and give unnecessary burden on scholar who works day and night in lab.

Please understand that if we put biometric attendance twice a day, what good can bring this to the research and overall ranking of the institute? We are researchers and many of us have their own time frame to work. Kindly consider this. Thank you

Completely unnecessary. If you are not gonna pay just for not marking twice then pay for overtime too. Otherwise do not bring such useless rules! Dont bring corporate things into research!

This is strictly against the research environment. I can come to lab according to my schedule.

While running the experiments we can not leave machine unattempted for biometric attendence. This may cause serious damage to machine, sensor etc which are very costly. Second things when we are in flow of doing research it is large chance to forget about attendance. Thanks

I think PhD students are evaluated based on research output, publications, and progress, not on strict office attendance.

I think, they are trying to control the stipend as increment on PhD hasn't yet adjusted as per inflation, while salary of politicians have been increased to adjust with inflation. They just are trying to find excuse to cut the research stipend and fund more to politicians salary. We need more funds to develop lab to gain interest towards experiential research not only theoretical research. if setups are good, they won't be needing to setup the biometrics as good research infrastructure itself binds a good researcher to lab without thinking of time spent.

We want flexible attendance policy so that we can focus on our research.
