The airlines keep ignoring the clear demand for a direct route but this surge in support proves they cannot stay silent for much longer. They think they can force us into inconvenient connections while they bank their profits but today shows we have the leverage to force their hand.

If there are direct flights from Malta to Cork I would be utilizing the service more frequently since my daughter lives there. This apart from the fact that a Cork and its surrounding areas are so beautiful to visit. This direct flight would surely increase tourism to the area.

There is demand . My mother regularly flys to visit my brother , sister in law and their children in malta. At 6o plus years she is forced to travel to Dublin each time. She would definitely fly from cork if she could.

To fly direct from Cork to Malta would save so much on time, petrol / bus fare (If Irelands busses are in fact operating) and create more convenience for shorter time travelling, especially for those with young kids. Bring it on!

I am Maltese, currently live in Cork. I'd decided to move here before COVID. Back then flights between Malta and Cork were direct and once a day. This made it an easy choice since my family and friends could visit as often as they wanted, and vice versa. I moved and flights ceased. It now takes me a full day to travel to and from either via a 4 hour flight from Dublin and a 2.5 hour train + the car journey to where I actually live in Cork or by flying somewhere like London or Rome and then connecting to Malta. This is not feasible for my elderly parents.

There is plenty of need for this route. The Dublin flights are always packed.
