Petition for Parking at the Jennie Dean Park

It is difficult already to park at A-SPAN, or to access the facility via public transportation from our home. I support A-SPAN parking for volunteers and for clients, along with improved public transit access too.

I am a contributor to AFAC through the Plot Against Hunger program and know how essential sufficient parking is for volunteers and, especially, clients.

Please do NOT eliminate the 30 spaces, it will have a negative impact on AFAC'S ability to service clients in need of food

AFAC is a necessity in the community therefore let's make it convenient for our clients, the volunteers and staff that make this important organization work.

While the improvements to Jennie Dean Park are needed, the County must factor in their plans parking needs in that area. Parking for AFAC clients and volunteers is already a challenge the current plans will only make it worse.

AFAC provides an immeasurable service to Arlington. Staff, clients and volunteers MUST have accessible parking.

Such a change will only impact the lower income clients and the staff/ volunteers of AFAC who are spending their time and efforts to continue to make Arlington Co the caring environment that it’s citizens take pride in. Why penalize the very people that are helping accomplish this goal AND those needy residents they serve. Shame on Arlington Co for attempting this!

We need places to park for volunteers and clients at AFAC

Parking near AFAC is already challenging. Don't make it worse!

As a weekend volunteer at AFAC, finding parking is always problematic. The amount of parking needs to be INCREASED, not decreased.

As a frequent volunteer at AFAC’s headquarters, I can testify to the need for as much parking as possible in that area. Between AFAC clients and volunteers, dog park users, and customers of other nearby facilities, parking is at a premium there.

Please do not take away the limited parking that we currently have; this will create a hardship for all concerned, especially the elderly clients and those with small children when visiting AFAC.

I have regularly parked in both contested spaces while volunteering at AFAC for more than 10 years and know how useful they are. AFAC, its clients, its volunteers need have parking for this vital organization to serve our community effectively,

Please continue allowing clients of AFAC to use Jennie Dean parking lot and street parking on 27th street. Many clients have so many other problems without having to deal with parking problems.

I often bring fresh produce to AFAC warehouse. Parking is very limited now, partly created by dog park users. For those who would take away parking, first try to move a load of heavy grocieries even a couple blocks. They are heavy, bulky and yet essential to a healthy life. Please expand parking for clients, not reduce!

AFAC is so important for our community and those in need have to be able to access it easily.

I bring student volunteers to AFAC and parking is important for our safety and continued service there.

As a volunteer for AFAC there are very few parking spots when there is lots of activity there and a group is assembled. We need to have parking accessible nearby for us and the visitors to AFAC.

AFAC is a critical organization and supporter of the Arlington community. Arlington County has a duty to ensure that organizations like AFAC can service residents in the best way they can. Do not taint the reputation Arl County has by making it more difficult for AFAC to service clients whose lives literally depend upon them.

These already limited parking spots are crucial to the operation of AFAC, taking them will negatively impact the community that is dependent on AFAC for feeding their families.
