Petition for Parking at the Jennie Dean Park

Most current visitors to athletic field, food pantry, dog park, New District brewery, etc. drive. The area isn’t dense residential like Clarendon or Ballston.

I have volunteered at AFAC for seven years and often park in the Jennie Dean Park lot. Please do what’s best for AFAC and its clients and volunteers.

Afac is a great organization and deserves all the support the county can give it

Please do not take away the Jennie Dean parking lot. As a senior citizen with some knee issues, I rely on parking there when I come to volunteer at AFAC. Parking there is safe and convenient to the AFAC warehouse.

For whose benefit would such a reduction in parking for AFAC clients and staff be, and whom is the county trying to penalize or drive away?

Parking is already very limited in the area. Please don't make it worse with this plan.

It's essential for AFAC to have parking spots available in order to continue this important program.

As a longtime Arlington County resident and AFAC volunteer, I know that eliminating parking in this area would very likely put a damper on the level of volunteerism at AFAC, at a time when volunteers -- and the services they provide through AFAC -- are needed more than ever as the cost of living rises and threatens people of limited economic means.

Its already difficult to park in the area because it is filled with tennis/basketball/baseball families, dog park users, AFAC clients and volunteers. Along Four Mile Run many vehicles seem to be permanently parked there, limiting parking spaces. Save what we have!

Our clients need a place to park - why create more challenges for the people that stuggle enough?

There aren’t many other accessible parking options

Please ensure that there are adequate safe and accessible places for clients and volunteers to park at AFAC. There are already so many challenges facing the clients, let's not add to them.

Volunteering is important to AFAC and volunteers need to have a place to park when they show up. When individuals make a sacrifice to give of their time and talent, it should not be made to look like we are being penalized by not having a place to park. Dog walkers have parking spaces and they “walk” their dogs. Provide parking for AFAC.

Keep AFAC customers and clients safe!

AFAC provides an important service for the most vulnerable in our community. Please don't make it harder for the people who need food assistance to get it.

AFAC volunteers need parking to give back to our community, new neighbors.
