Petition for Parking at the Jennie Dean Park

AFAC provides valuable services to families in dire need of community support. The work of AFAC makes Arlington a better place to live. Why would the County board and staff put forth a plan to take away the parking for the volunteers who are essential to AFAC to reduce food insecurity our community? AFAC greatly reduces the County's financial burden of social services through its excellent work.

Parking is a priority for eveyone

It is getting more difficult to park in order to get my weekly food from the Arlington Food Assistance Center. This county has been inclusive! Please continue to be.

Please stop taking parking spaces away here and anywhere else in the County! AFAC patrons and volunteers as well as others have parking needs.

Please reconsider your decision to take parking away from volunteers, clients, disabled individuals and surrounding businesses. I would not be able to volunteer if there were no accessible parking. Walking a long distance is not feasible for me. Thank you.

Please account for the needs of the AFAC families as you make your plans for this project.

I’m an APAH volunteer.

AFAC needs access to parking around their headquarters, due to their clients requirement to be able to park close by to load up their very much needed supplies.

Arlington County wants to take away the Jennie Dean parking lot and street parking on 27th St S. These changes will make it even harder for AFAC clients, volunteers, and staff to find safe and accessible parking.

I help deliver between 1,200 and 1,500 pounds of produce per growing season with weekly or twice a week during peak season. Aside from the loading dock, parking is generally scarce and often requires clients and other visitors to park at a considerable distance. Reducing the number of spaces would only exacerbate a situation that is far from ideal as is.

Keep parking open for AFAC and their important work!

Please consider the need in the bigger picture.

Please preserve the current use of the Jennie Dean parking lot and the on-street parking on South 27th street.

Parking for all!

Without this parking, volunteers and clients will have limited access to the food bank. Parking can be hard to come by in that area, especially if there is a game at the park.

Please permit us to continue parking at this location. Many of us volunteer our time and vehicles in support of the AFAC facility operations.

AFAC is where my family spends a great deal of our volunteer time. It's important to us to be able to park nearby to volunteer, but more importantly the clients who depend on AFAC need this accessibility. Please find a way to accommodate the needs of this vital Arlington institution!

Volunteering at AFAC for me is possible because of parking. I am a volunteer from Fairfax city and enjoy providing my time and talents. Paying to park or having no parking available would chnage my decision on my volunteer status.
