There is a small group of Communication Ph.D.'s who serve as faculty members at various Professional Military Education institutions. This interest group would be a wonderful addition to the NCA community.

There was a former soldier in the first class I ever taught. He was in school on the GI bill and suffered from PTSD. He had a lot of challenges interacting with his classmates as a civilian and died of suicide several years later. We need more research on communication and the military.

This is obviously an important area of study, and a new division would help facilitate the exchange of insights and ideas among communication scholars.
