Pharmaceutical companies have far too much influence on Health Canada. Negative trails hidden, research by paid for by drug companies but government still considers it gospel. Time to look at some of the bureaucrats who are waiting for lucrative jobs with these same pharmaceutical companies. (swinging door)

Health Canada is greatly influenced by the pharmaceutical industry to our detriment. A recent report stated that the pharmaceutical industry in the U.S. spent $900,000,000 lobbying the U.S. government. The same thing is happening in Canada to a lesser extent. Health Canada has banned thousands of products from health food stores (which are basically vitamins, herbs and minerals. Yet they allow antibiotics that have killed many thousands of people.

Why is it necessary to have a petition to correct mistakes of Health Canada. You would think they would jump to get on top of this. Is this fodder for the Opposition?

Prevention is better than cure. We need to reduce health care costs by preventing diseases.

Making sure that people have sufficient vitamin D levels is one of the most powerful and cost-effective ways of improving health and quality of life. Your recommendations will do the opposite. I had to take 10,000 iu for about nine months to achieve an acceptable level. I live at a latitude the same as southern- middle Canada.
