Making sure that people have sufficient vitamin D levels is one of the most powerful and cost-effective ways of improving health and quality of life. Your recommendations will do the opposite. I had to take 10,000 iu for about nine months to achieve an acceptable level. I live at a latitude the same as southern- middle Canada.

Vitamin D makes me feel good when i take it. Especially before my hockey games.

I live in Canada and just can't get the sunshine required,I take 12,000 IU a day 5 days a week and in 2 years am just getting into the "good" range. The RDA is way too low for people in this contry.

Over the last 3 years I've raised my D level from 17 to 40. This increase took supplementing with 5000 IU a day. Please reevaluate the RDA for vitamin D, it will save lives.

My rheumatologist advised being in the 50-80 ng/ml range for vitamin D and I can only do this by taking 5,000 IUs each day.
