We are fortunate to have Father Evangelos Aravantinos as our Priest at St. Nicholas & Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church. We have known him since he started being a priest here in East Vancouver. He is a good person. My family and I would like Father Evangelos to continue being our priest. Please let him stay.

We are so fortunate to have Father Evangelos Aravantinos as our priest at Saint Nicholas and Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church in East Vancouver BC. He does a wonderful job at church service and is a good person. We have known him since he became a priest at the church. Please let him stay.

No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.(Matthew 5:15). When Father Evangelos is in the altar during the Divine Liturgy one can feel genuine humbleness, faithfulness and true love to our Lord Jesus Christ, one can feel the heaven closer to the earth an once in a lifetime experience. It is a blessing for me and for my family to have Father Evangelos as our spiritual father in one of the most difficult time in our life. There are no words to say thank you for what he and Presbytera has done for us. Please Your Eminence do not take our Father Evangelos away from us. It will be devastating for all of us to lose an irreplaceable priest. We desperately need him. Please reconsider.

I cannot envision the moment that we have to say good bye to Father Evangelos. This unexpected transfer has surprised everyone in my family of 10 plus all the other parishioners that I have spoken to. Father Evangelos is such a wonderful priest, he makes all those who meet him feel very welcomed. What’s not to appreciate about him the long hours, the sacrifices and the dedication. He is so engaging with the youth and they think so highly of him. Since Father Evangelos arrived here, my kids relationship with God has deepened and isn’t that what the church is supposed to be all about. We’ve all become really attached to him and don’t want him to leave. Why would the leaders of our community not stand up and say how much he means to us and especially to the young generation.

Father Evangelos is an amazing priest and an inspiring person. He is always there to listen to whatever you have to say and is waiting by your side when you're in need. Losing such an amazing and inspirational Father would be quite devastating. He is not only our Father but a very trusting friend who you can count on and feel comfortable opening yourself up to with any problems you may have. We hope you will read into everyone's concerns for losing our Father and Presvytera so they will stay with us to continue to help and make a difference in our community for many more years to come.

father has helped me and my kids through many hard days. We would be deeply saddened if he left and don't feel it's fair to our community

Someone needs to print up a petition make copies hand out outside the door of the church in the next few remaining weeks and get real (Live) signatures as people are walking in and mail to the Metropolis. This will also be a clear indication of who supports and who does not. There is a Philoptochos luncheon coming up this Saturday and AGM on the 3rd of November which is an excellent opportunity to collect signatures.
