Please keep Father Evangelos in our church. I am a very good friend of someone that attends this church with her family and little girl. I was in their wedding party at this church, have attended many other important family event here with this father. I go to Greek days and I see Father Evengelos. I see how he is with all the families, especially the children and he is the only father I know. It would be hard to replace him, his energy and his love that he gives to everyone!

Word of this hurts all of us immensely! Father Evangelos is a great teacher of the word of God and he has given us the tools to use in our spiritual journey in our lives' like no other! The connection between a priest's congregation takes years to establish with love, respect, trust and friendship and thats what makes Father Evangelos's tenure the most valuable one. His spiritual guidance has helped all of our families' in and outside of church in our individual journey's called life and that is something he and we should be extremely proud of. The decision to transfer Father Evangelos is one that might be out of our control but the actions of having united, strong, proud and spiritually strong Greek Orthodox Communities across Canada is in your control! Please reconsider.....

All priests in their positions at Vancouver Greek Orthodox Churches should remain in place because they have kept the Greek Community as whole in place. i sign this petition not only for Father Evangelos but also for Father Partsafas and the others as well. This will create problems for the community as whole. The point is to keep believers of the Orthodox faith to come to Church to see a friendly familiar face that they see every Sunday and this should be respected and valued. If this plan goes ahead and the Perishners are moved or forced into retirmenet people will stop coming to our Churches in the same way they do now. Allow them to stay .

I am very emotional writing this letter. I am very thankful for having Father in my life for the past nine years. He has played such an important part in bringing me and my family so close to our church and our religion. He has made our place of warship a peaceful sanctuary where I can feel safe and free of all my worries. He has brought our family so close to god. I will miss him dearly. His presence brings me such peace. He is such a nice person. My kids adore him and respect him dearly. If Father would like to stay with us here in Vancouver please let him stay. In today's society we need to keep our faith strong. Father Evaggelos helps us keep our faith strong.

Father has had such a big impact on myself and my family in the years that we've known him. He's the first priest in our community which put us completely at ease and made us feel totally comfortable and welcome. He is the reason we've enjoyed the church and our community more in the last 9 years and the ONLY reason our community has increased its younger members. His connection to his parishioners, young and old, has been such a refreshing and welcome change. We feel that his presence has brought in the younger generations (singles, families and their children) into our church community, much more so than ever before. They come because of his warm, kind and funny nature and his ability to be relatable - which is key to the future of our community! The same is true of his lovely wife, the Presvetera. Moving him for some undisclosed and seemingly senseless reason, without any regard for what his people have to say about it is simply unconscionable. We are very disappointed with how this matter is being treated, without any input from those of us who are actually affected by this decision.

Father Evangelos has made such a positive impact in the lives of so many people in Vancouver over the past 9 years. I was so saddened to hear that he was going to be transferred. I can only hope and pray that somehow Father Evangelos will be permitted to stay to continue in his vocation for our community.

I question why a priest who is loved and admired by his congregation and nowhere near retirement is being transferred out? Has something happened? If not then why does this need to happen.

It is a blessing and a privilege to have Father Evangelos as our priest. We pray and hope that love and understanding will prevail. Please Your Eminence, do not take this away from us. It would be irreplaceable for us and for our children.

Father Evangelos and Presvetera are like family and always there to offer heartfelt support and guidance. They are both wonderful people and Orthodox Christians. Father Evangelos is extremely faithful and knowledgeable, and with his faith, my family and I were able to get through a very difficult time in our lives. He is a very sweet and humble man and is an amazing example of what we should all strive to be. He brings all the lessons down to a level that everyone can understand. He also connects with my children and all the youth in a very special way. They all love him. He is down to earth and has a sense of humour that makes everyone feel very comfortable. He has also brought so much to our community. We would miss their presence immensely and hope that you would please reconsider your desicion and keep the Father and Presvetera with us. Sincerely Vivian Munroe

Please leave our wonderful Priest Father Evangelos here with us...this is his home, we are his family and he is ours...He matters to us and to our children...my daughters have him on speed dial and adore him and his teachings, his kindness, and his compassion. Transferring him will be a devastating act and will cause more hurt and pain then good. We want our children to come to the House of God, Well Father Evangelos has achieved this...He is an amazing soul, please hear and accept the outpour of reasons our Father should remain with us, you will have done your job as Archbishop to have heard our community, our children, which will confirm you have done your job. God Bless you and the impactful decision you have to make... we believe in you...
