father evangelos is one of the most positive caring and easy going priests. He is always available to listen and help with a prayer when needed. He can easily put a smile on any sad face and will be greatly missed if he gets relocated. please keep him here in Vancouver where he has learned to call home.

Father Evangelos has been an inspiration to our community and has a connection especially with our youth. I hope he can stay so we may continue to grow and flourish as a community!

They can't leave! They're part of the the family! We all love them and they're really good with the kids. They always make us feel welcome no matter how we présent ourselves. After Church, Father always embraces us witha hug. It won't be the same with anybody else. They are always living, compassionet and they always add positivity to our lives! ≤3

This has been an extremely difficult week for my family, as well as many others who attend and are members of our beloved Saints Nicholas and Demitrios Greek Orthodox Church. The news of our priest Father Evangelos and Presvtera...are to be transferred has shaken us all to the core. I'm quite saddened by this, he is such a wonderful priest and friend to all of us...especially to our children. There has been a definite increase in many young families in attendance on Sundays. The Sunday school, and Greek school programs have flourished since he has been here...our youth LOVE FR. EVANGELOS! He is kind, and patient, and has a gentle soul. This is why we love him, and trust him, and consider him to be such a good friend. Having discussions about our faith is so enjoyable, he makes you feel at ease, this is another reason why many of our youth have taken to him. This is why the news of this transfer hurts so much. The Church has had stability and now this occurs. What we've got hear is failure to communicate! If the new norm is to have a priest for say example five years, than this has to be stated up front by the powers that be. It sure seems this is definitely the new model that we have to deal with and accept. Right or wrong I guess we'll find out when we meet our maker. It's pretty clear to me where we all stand on this issue, the love and respect for Father and Presvytera is evident. I do not wish to see this transfer happen period. Upon hearing this news my daughter started to cry, as did I, and asked me..."daddy what did we do wrong"? Wow, such a profound statement by such a young child...and I'm left to explain WHY! Father, and Presvytera, just for the record you will always be a part of our family :)

Your Eminence, PLEASE. Do not take our father away from us! I first met father when I was sixteen. He took me under his wing from that very moment.Leading me and many others on the right path. Fr.Evangelos and Presvytera have been nothing but loving and kind. Whenever I'm going through a difficult time, Father and Presvytera are always there with open arms. Your Eminence, I want to thank you for sending us Father Evangelos. Please allow him to stay! We would be so grateful. I pray to God and to the Panagia that you do. Thank you.

It is without hesitation that I say father Evangelos is the greatest priest Vancouver has ever seen. His caring, communication and listening has been a breath of fresh air for our community. For Vancouver Greeks, the father has helped make the church a much more inviting place to be. Unfortunately, it is no secret that the Greek Orthodox Church as an organization puts it's bank accounts at the top of their priorities. I do not believe the interests of our people and the welfare of our community has anything to do with this decision. This is business, and father Evangelos will likely be placed somewhere where a great leader is needed to help promote the church. Since greater Vancouver has a strong community, we have seen several priests in and out in the past 10 years. We simply don't "require" such a great leader. I hope I am wrong, but I don't believe I am. Maybe the Church should consider listening to our community rather than dictate to it. Konstantinos Roumeliotis
