I made my thoughts known early on supporting that this divisive commission not go forward, and should not be formed. This commission, as I expected, has set upon establishment of proposal that will only lead to further division, anger, and hatred. The city council and Mayor Tecklenberg have seen fit to ignore the considerations and signatures of over 1500 county residents. Again, our elected representatives serve only their political agenda, and consider not those whom they represent.

Absolutely these amendments should be supported! How can this Commission be 'validated' if you adopt the initial Commission's report and proceed without changing the goal?

I'M AGAINST THIS AMENDMENT. IT'S DIVISIVE AND I OR MY FAMILY NEVER HAD SLAVES I DO NOT AGREE WITH REPARATIONS. YOU ARE RUNING OUR BEAUTIFUL CITY!!!!!

The pursuit of equality among citizens does not require reverse discrimination in public policy, in fact this is antithetical to the goal of equality. Likewise, attempts to erase our history by removing historical markers or monuments does not serve the purpose of educating and informing our citizens about what brought us to our present time.
