The ECFMG has officially restored access for Crimean physicians and the discriminatory policy is finally behind us. This outcome confirms that persistence is necessary when advocating for fair professional standards. Please stay attentive to these bureaucratic processes to ensure our colleagues remain supported in the future.

On July 2nd 2015, the educational commission for foreign medical graduates or ECFMG, which is responsible for verification of credentials related to medical education, training, and licensure, announced that this commission is no longer accepting application from CRIMEAN physicians.

We know this happened with our Iranian, Sudanese and Cuban colleagues and the issues were solved. We strongly condemn this unfair and utterly discriminatory policy which is a clear example of national or political origin discrimination.

We demand immediate revision of these policies and restoration of normal services to Crimean applicants just like any other applicant from anywhere else in the world.

I suggest everyone whom is willing to pass the tests (STEP 1.2) write a good letter to the OFAC. If they get many letters than we can break the ice. I wrote.

It is not fair at all. Credentials are verified but Crimean doctors cannot take exam, even some of them passed part of those test already. We are Doctors. We don’t care about politics. Please pass this petition to every doctor. Remember we all can be in same shoes as Crimean doctors. We should be united!

It was a total political affair, the students were not adequately informed about what could happen after ( and we did not even vote by the way). We should not be punished for something we could not control

As a clinician here at children's hospital Washington DC we need well-trained healthcare providers. By not allowing the licensure of people who've been victimized by political forces outside of their control where depriving good quality medical care to not only children but opportunities for better lives which cause these people To flee

Totally support this petition. These doctors are trying to leave the occupied territory so they obviously are not supporting Russian ocupation of Crimea. They should not be prosecuted!

I am a victim of the political events despite the fact that I am legally live in the United States (I have a green card). I want to apply my knowledge in the United States and have the same rights as medical doctors from other countries.

This has been a great help in assisting Cubans fleeing the communist regime.
