I strongly feel that allowing students to receive email from their @med email address but not being able to reply using the @med address will be confusing to the original sender that they will be communicating with. In addition, due to the change in email address between the original To and Reply addresses, this may cause some messages to be sent to SPAM on the original senders side and that would be unfortunate.

Being associated with WSUSOM through our email address is very important. It identifies where we are from. It is hard enough for students to have their voice heard through email. This would be a mistake- plain and simple.

Please do not take this from us! This is important to our identity as medical professionals and gives credibility when communicating with other members of the medical team.

This would be a HUGE blow to our professional identity. Anyone outside of our system would not understand an email coming from "alphanumeric @ Wayne "

Having this email is a important part of my professional identity as a medical student. When I applied for residencies, it was especially important to have a email that readily identified you as a member of Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Having the @med.wayne.edu gives students credibility and differentiates us from pre-med undergraduates who are also contacting physicians for certain opportunities. It is important to keep this email to establish our identity right off the bat when we are communicating with other professionals in and out of the medical field. We've all put in a lot of effort and accumulated a lot of debt to become medical students, and it is unfair to take away this email address which legitimizes our position and makes contacting other professionals more efficient.

It would be absurd, unprofessional, and a real disservice to all medical students to remove this domain. To maintain the domain seems like a small undertaking compared to the larger inconvenience and disservice it would be to the medical students.

Losing our email address while we are still talking to residency programs would be a horrible thing potentially damage our ability to match

This is flat out ridiculous. Thank you Wayne for now having me to explain to all my professional contacts why my email address now looks like spam. Not only does this discredit the student who has to compete with other students from different medical schools for research, shadowing, mentoring, and residency, it also discredits the school for clearly putting a financial expense over the best intersts of its students.

My med.wayne email helps me stand out as a student and future medical professional. The transition to the two letter four number email system would make my contact very ambiguous and could be received with skepticism from individuals who receive email from me for the first time. As an email I will have for many years to come, I appreciate your support standing by me to help promote both myself and also the wayne state school of medicine in the future.

This school has issues on a much grander scale that needs addressing prior to email addresses!

This email is very much part of a professional identity. It's something that medical students are proud to have, ka reminder of the achievements we made getting into medical school. I vividly remember giving a tour to a student interviewing and giving my email to him in case he had any further questions, and he remarked "wow, it must feel good to finally have that email address." It does, and this shows it's something people notice. Reconsider this change.

This is a serious matter of professional integrity, and it's ridiculous that this is actually an issue. Let's be civil here, and stop Wayning everyone for once.

As a class of 1985 graduate, I feel it is extremely important for current WSUSOM students to maintain this identity. They have earned the right to be identified as students in the school of medicine.

There will be difficulty in networking and contacting professors without the address identifying our names and school affiliation - which will affect not only our medical school communications but residency application process and opportunities in medicine outside of this university and will look unprofessional and reflect poorly on the medical school

I believe it is incredibly important to retain the @med.wayne.edu as a distinguishing factor when i reach out beyond the university to contact faculty/physicians.

A med.wayne.edu is a crucial part of the match process, getting rid of it would put Wayne students at a serious disadvantage during the interview season

When I need to email a new physician to network, to ask for advice, to ask for research opportunities, I count on my @med.wayne.edu to show my legitimacy as a medical student at Wayne State. I believe that losing this domain would greatly effect the professionalism of myself and the future student body.
