With the age of travel ease we currently live in - it only makes sense to have one insurance standard across the country. Our clients are usually interprovincial.

I have clients in almost every province of Canada and should be able to offer full service to all without having to refer business to others, who although are in the same industry, as independent contractors/agents we are essentially sharing clients with the competition.

I support this petition. Numerous Travel Agents work with clients from all over Canada, insurance requirements need to be standardized from throughout all our provinces.

We service clients across the country. We should have one licence even if we have to recertify with a new interprovincial exam.

I believe this is a valuable initiative to ensure travel agents are consistently offering comprehensive coverage to all clients. As part of TICO compliance, we are required to offer travel insurance, but challenges arise when clients reside outside of our province. Unfortunately, these restrictions result in lost business on both ends—agents are unable to provide full-service support to out-of-province clients, and the insurance products we offer are affected as well. Clients are often forced to take an extra step to purchase insurance independently, which can be inconvenient and discouraging. Streamlining this process would not only enhance the client experience but also support agents in delivering more complete services across the board.

Consolidating regulations for the sale of travel insurance to a standardized national level (rather than individual provincial regulations) would greatly improve the service I can offer clients from other provinces to ensure they are properly insured for their holidays. This is long overdue.

Absolutely the rules should be the same across the country for travel insurance and allow us the professionalism of providing full service to all our clients, regardless of the province they reside

As a dedicated travel professional, I believe that removing interprovincial trade barriers related to the sale of travel insurance is essential for better serving our clients and supporting the unified growth of Canada's travel industry. It's time to allow travel advisors across the country to operate on a level playing field, without outdated restrictions that limit access, efficiency, and client care. I strongly urge the federal government to take meaningful action toward a more integrated and equitable system.
