Petition for Coach Nick Turcotte's Contract to be Re-Evaluated and Voted on by the ENTIRE Board

Nick was encouraging and helpful to my grandson in his first year of playing hockey. He should be retained.

Mr. Nick is a demanding coach. He his more of a talent evaulator that some don't like. He is not the same old pay or play style of leader; which is why KC United was a great success.

Turcotte’s love for hockey shows in the kids he coaches. KCYHA needs Turcotte if they want to grow the program. He is a gem!

Over the past years Nick has helped me become a better hockey player. Nick is not the coach to focus only on the talented kids, he strives to make each kid the best they can be. -Landon Goodwin

Not having him apart of the program teaching and developing our kids will kill this program. This shows me that the Saints program only cares about my money and not our kids overall development.

Nick has been an instrumental piece to my son’s development pushing him to grow and calling out the places he’s lazy something even some of his coaches failed to do. Extremely disappointed that this program would let someone go in this manner this late into the season especially someone who has brought the saints this far forward in the 3 years with the program. I hope the board rights their wrong and signs nick again.

We need more transparency.

Nick was instrumental in the instruction and development of the kids for the Saints organization. Not having him would be an injustice to the organization as a whole.

The entire board needs to sign off on these things.

We love Nick and want him to stay. He has done many great things for this area and the saints. Landon has learned a lot from him and Alfie.

Why are parents whose kids don’t play on the team voting? I feel like Nick got railroaded outta there. Not happy. Looking at going elsewhere if that’s how yall do people.

We came from an organization where board members were voted on, minutes were posted, bylaws were followed and the organization was welcome to attend or bring concerns openly. It is very apparent that the Saints board and bylaws are markedly different, so it's hard to understand what is happening and there is such a disconnect between the board and the families that are members of the organization. Additionally, the families should have a vote for those leading and making such big decisions for the organization that we are choosing to invest our time and money in and entrusting the development of our athletes with. Ultimately, this whole situation was handled very poorly. Moving on to Nic. He is a huge reason my kids are where they are today because of his training, belief in them, how he runs practices and puts together teams etc. He pushes them when they need pushed, encourages them when they need it and isn't afraid to tell them the truth even when it's hard to hear. They all love coach Nick. When they heard he wasn't going to be a part of the Saints anymore they were all sad. This is not what they want. They know and love Taylor Kennedy just the same and are very excited to have him at the Saints but are disappointed they won't have Nick at the rink now. Both can be true at the same time. If there is any way to re-work the budget to allow for Nick to remain a part of the Saints then that would be awesome. I worry numbers will suffer because of this last minute decision. I also can't imagine being in his place and believing I had a job and then dropped after missing out on opportunities I could have had to support my family had I known earlier on I wasn't going to be kept on. Very sad. It's just not right.

Nick was the reason that my son fell in love with hockey. This one coach that give a crap about the kids but also want the best for them.

This was going to be Hans’ first year playing hockey (he is 8) and Nick’s ability to coach Hans over the summer is the sole reason for choosing the Saints org. He is a huge pull for kids to choose to play with the Saints as was evident by the three families who told us to go to the Saints org so we could work with Nick

Coach Nick is a great coach. Bring him back!

Coach Nic has always provided great guidance to my son on learning the game of hockey.

nobody cares more about player development than Nick Turcotte. It is unconscionable to make key personnel decisions, such as contract non-renewals, without even a quorum of the board.

If the decision to let Nick's contract lapse was going to be made, it should have happened months ago. I believe the entire organization was under the impression that he'd be coming back because that's the message the board was putting out as of June. I'm disappointed in the way the board has handled this whole situation. Making a decision with such a huge impact to the Saints organization should have happened with more than three members of the board present and much earlier in the off-season. I hope in the future, the board improves its transparency and works to better follow the bylaws. Making the meeting minutes available to the organization would make for a lot less rumor spreading amongst the teams and parents. I have two sons who play and I've seen how much they've each grown under Nick. I can't say they won't do the same under the new director, but I do know that they became better players under Nick. I wasn't sure my older son would continue playing until Nick came along. Nick is able to see the players individually and elevate their strengths. He makes them feel like they belong and that's a big part of why they work hard to be the best players they can to contribute to their team. I hope the board sees the frustration the parents are experiencing and makes better decisions going forward. I believe the Saints are losing a big asset in letting Nick go and I'd love to see him back on the staff in some capacity.

Nic has been a blessing for the kids. Nic’s skills in player development are well known, and I believe the Saints are far better off with him on staff. What successful organization doesn’t value the opinion of the customers who are spending their hard earned money?
