The final exam moved substantially from the material we were directed to prepare over the course of the semester by our lecturer. Months of study aligned to the stated scope were rendered irrelevant by a last-minute change that the majority of students were not consulted on or made aware of. This is an administrative failure, not a reflection of student preparation. Asking us to bear the cost (a possible course repeat) for an error made at the management level is neither fair nor defensible. I am signing in support of a fair remedy: an online re-sit on the agreed scope, or a a fair adjusted assessment that reflects what we were actually taught.

The examination contained topics that many students were not taught during the semester. We kindly request that the university review the paper to ensure students are assessed fairly on the prescribed course content.

At no point were the topics highlighted during any point of learning. Not even in passing. It’s a lecturers job to let us know what’s valid and what’s not because in as much as they gave us notes when teaching they are the same ones that tell us to ignore certain parts

We, the undersigned students of AFIN 210, respectfully submit this petition requesting a review of the AFIN 210 examination paper.
We believe that the examination was unfair for the following reasons:
Several questions were outside the scope of the topics covered during the course and differed significantly from the approved syllabus and revision guidance provided.
The examination paper was excessively lengthy, making it difficult for students to adequately attempt all questions within the allocated time.
Some questions were unclear and ambiguous, leading to different interpretations and confusion among candidates.
The level of difficulty was inconsistent with previous assessments and did not reasonably reflect the learning outcomes of the course.
In light of these concerns, we kindly request that the University reviews the examination and considers appropriate measures, such as moderation of the marking process, adjustment where necessary, or any other fair intervention to ensure that students are not unfairly disadvantaged.
This petition is made in good faith and with respect for the academic standards of the institution. We seek fairness and equal treatment for all affected students.

The exam written on Friday was highly disappointing, as a large portion of the questions were based on material that was never taught or adequately covered during lectures. Students should be assessed on the prescribed content delivered throughout the semester. Testing unfamiliar material placed students at a disadvantage and undermined the fairness of the assessment. We respectfully ask that the exam be reviewed and that consideration be given to the impact this has had on students’ performance.
