Ammon is burning up for no reason other than the outrageous in the cost of metered water. The staggering increase is unjustified and harmful to city residents. Where is all the money going and who is benefiting?

Our bill went from $100 to over $200 a month and this is with us letting our grass go a bit brown. I’ve noticed many yards are being let go. Do we really want dead and brown yards representing Ammon? :( I, too, would like to know where this extra revenue is going. Because there should be quite a bit of excess after all the increased bills.

All these lots that have not been watered have created a fire hazard for Ammon residents.The City Counsel is suppose to represent the residents. There are 8,600 homes in Ammon. Add $30.00 to each bill which equals 360.00 for each household for the year. Times that by 8,600. Do the math. There is plenty of money to solve the problem without having meters.

Our bill went from $48 a month to $120! Almost triple the amount and we are only a 2 person Household. This is rediculous!

I think the rates are too high. Ammon is expecting to pay their mistakes by charging so much for water. I wouldn’t mind if they cut it in half. But their rate is too high.

So $30/month for the meter plus $1/1000 gal for the water??? Why not be more transparent on their monthly bills? It's a little misleading that they include the meter fee under the fee for water usage. I don't mind paying my fair share but when you have to hide the extra $30 as water usage, it definitely looks shady!!! Where's the money going Sean???

The water rates are outrageous! And there is no 'credit' for winter months when our use drops - we are still charged the base rate.

$16.77 my ass... I knew we were metered so I cut my watering to a quarter what it was, and my bill went up $70... I couldn’t imagine if I continued to try and keep my grass green.

My bill has increased approx $100 per month, and my yard looks like crap. Cars are dirty because I dont want to up the water bill to wash them. And can't always make it to the car wash or wait in line. It's ridiculous!

Add to the outrage the omitting of the 7,000 gallons/month from the current fee as a result of those homeowners complaining they were not getting a "break" for low usage.

I’m curious what the city is doing with the excess revenue brought in by the %200 increase in rates? I can’t imagine that this much $ was needy to pay for the infrastructure of the water system. I’m hopeful this is just an error that will be fixed shortly.
