Not metered yet, but its coming they are working on my street as I speak. I am so worried I wont be able to afford to keep my grass looking green, but the city just says put in more rocks. they don't care what the average person has to budget just to live. I will not be able to afford to water my grass, or let my grandkids run in the sprinkler next summer. It is unfair the price they have put on the water.

This is way wrong how the world started charging for water like its a fine vintage is ridiculous. My mother is at an age where she lives off a budget and it doesn't all need to go to a water bill she's earned the right to have fun with her money and it's funny all higher authorities dial in on this over ridiculous things that's almost a car payment people!! Reduce the water bill so every normal human being can't afford something that we need to live on. Unreal!!

I'm very upset that none of the city officials are taking what it's citizens are concerned about seriously. I think a recall is overdue.

The public was mislead last year when our TRIAL utility bills were implemented. Ammon only used a 1.0 factor when figuring the cost of water. When I brought it to Micah Austin's attention last year that the "tentative" formula was flawed, he responded that the mayor hadn't yet picked a formula. Guess we are now seeing the high rates of the formula. We were baited and switched by the city of ammon. Not believing them when they claim the high bill is from leaking water pipes. We were baited and switched. The bills last year appeared cheaper. To Brian Powell “Do you know how many public meetings that we’ve held? How many of those seven were you at?” Councilman Brian Powell, the formula was switched on us AFTER the trial billing last year. You baited and switched the formula. You are the ones at fault for being so deceiving. Don't push this back on the residents when the residents were lied to.

For whatever reasons the City is using for raising the rates, it is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for them to be so darn high. Rediculous! I'm not opposed to a REASONABLE increase, but triple % is insane. The rates need to be adjusted down very soon. Our property values will plummet when this becomes common knowledge. Fix the rates or change the leadership.

This increase is outrageous! We went from paying $45 per month for water, to now paying $118. The City should certainly review and reduce the metered rates!!!

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that the increase cost is so high . How can families afford this when we have a fixed income? Ammon yards won’t look beautiful for our community if they can’t afford to keep them green.

I thought we lived in Idaho NOT southern Arizona/Mexico! I'm pretty sure I shoveled /snow blown enough snow this past winter alone to give my household the water it needed to get through the summer! We believe in water conservation but this is ridiculous. We will be at the meeting Sept 5th. Hoping to get some answers from the city council instead of shoulder shrugging.

We are not currently on a meter but I have have been monitoring how many gallons my family of 4 uses, once they put in my meter my bill would go from the flay $50/month they are charging to well over $300. (I have a half acre of grass and just want it to be nice and green for my kids.)

I don’t understand why we don’t use a second water source to water our lawns! My brother has that in Utah and pays 9.00 a month to water his lawn! There has to be a better solution than hurting the people of Ammon financially!

I am very disappointed in the city of Ammon. It is hard for me to understand your goals in the water meters besides making more money off of us. The end result that I can see is that the once pretty yards and neighborhoods that we have enjoyed will be no more. If it is a choice between doing laundry, bathing children and other household needs or watering your yard the choice will be to let the yards go un-watered. Just regular household water will really spike residents water bill. I believe it is time to move out of Ammon if we can now sell our home at market value.

the only choices to cut water usage are not good for Ammon or its residents. Brown lawns(ugh), less bathing (ugh) or less washing of clothing (ugh) for those with a family at home. This will make Ammon very undesirable and word-of-mouth spreads fast. Water meters were a bad and costly idea. The rate for water in 2010 was $18.25!!! Flat rates and careful spending by City of Ammon are better solutions.

I will 100% not be paying the city. They are a joke. Tear my brand new driveway up to place new meter, won’t replace the concrete they broke.

Consider this as I thought I was the only one who thought the prices from the other side of town were reasonable I moved here in April and as an Idaho Falls native I didnt realize how unrealistic using water on this side could be.

I don't understand why I am paying for those people who don't have a meter yet....... I have done everything I know to do to keep water usage down. I have paid 120.00 for a new control panel, ISU came and looked at everything I needed to do to make my system as conservative as possible, then I paid another 300.00 to Yard Tech to make their suggested improvements. I can't afford your water.

It seems incredible that the water bill had to increase as much as it has.

When we bought here we had an expectation of what utilities would cost. While a modest increase can be expected, what we have with the new water rates is totally unacceptable

DITTO to all comments made! We love our neighborhood but feel so disappointed to look around our neighborhood to see the burned up lawns because homeowners cannot afford another house payment just to use a basic resource! This is wrong! This is stealing. A change has got to happen

I agree with Craig Anderson's comments on the Petition. The cost of water doesn’t correlate with the availability of water in Southeast Idaho. We just had one of our best watershed years. The citizens of Ammon shouldn’t have to pay rates found in areas of our country with limited amounts of water or significant population pressure.
