Unacceptable and intolerable. It's a sad moment for STS. I chose this school over many others as it represented the community I wished to raise my 3 children. I am South African and have seen the pain and devastation of an unjust society which people were shamed for their diversity. I hoped for my children to grow up safe, appreciated and respected. This situation is as hideous as APARTHEID/ HOLOCAST and will never be accepted in this day and age. The schoolboard needs to respond immediately.

My daughter was bullied by mean, entitled girls at STS 10 years ago. Apparently, it's only gotten worse. Children of wealthy, connected parents should not have a license to bully. Get it together Strath.

The actions of the student who made those appalling remarks are still not justifiable regardless on whether or not there was a second side to the situation. A mistake is something that is unintentional and in this case it obviously was as the student uttered numerous hateful comments in different snapchats, so call this situation what it is rather than labeling it as a "mistake".

This person made a really big mistake and will probably never do anything of this sort again. We are all human and need to forgive. No this is not okay what so ever but the school is working with the families to find an appropriate solution. And we all need to understand that there was a second person involved with this and this so called "victim" probably said really horrible things too. There is two sides to the story this just happened to be one of them. There is more to the story than what everyone is assuming or chooses to believe. The family is really lovely and this is the last thing they need right now!

I am a former student of STS and things like this have been happening for a long time with out and action against it. Many students are also being harassed every day about long hair and facial hair which is taking away the students independence.

As an STS alumnus I am dismayed and repulsed by this incident, although, it is sadly not an isolated one. I hope and demand that the school takes immediate action to support the victim, punish the perpetrator and address the systemic issues at STS which allowed this to happen.

Action is always required in instances of racism and bullying, not just when it appears public ally on social media. Please see this as the opportunity to educate and demonstrate why racialized comments and insults are especially degrading to minority students and the STS community can not tolerate such practices. Take action in such a way that not only mandates a proportional level of punishment, but also educates and leaves a lasting life-lesson for the student community and others at STS. These issues are real in the STS community and society at large and have real consequences - education is the best way to mutual understanding and solidarity. Based on my time at STS, I know there are very talented, knowledgeable, and empathetic teachers that can help do the job

An apt comparison to be made here is how an African student at STS got suspended for making raps on Soundcloud, and no punishment happens to this white girl with apparent relations to the school board of governors...
