It is dangerous to allow actions like those we have become aware of to go with no repurcussions - it excuses not only bullying, but also a deeply racist sentiment in a school with a increasingly diverse student body. And how can people of colour be expected to respond with calmness when we feel unsafe in our community?

I saw alot of abuse going on with the kids not just physically but mentally and emotionally and i would love if that changed. There is alot of bullying that needs to take action on

It make no sense that she does not get punished and trill tega gets suspended for 2 weeks when his song didn't have anything to do with the school

That was immature of her. Even though the problem was out of of school , the girl goes to the school. You shouldn't make an excuse and not do anything with the problem by saying sorry this is a problem that wasn't in school territory. The problem is that this school made no action whatsoever to stop this bullying violence and racism.

Incredibly upsetting that one person can shame and target a large population of this school and still manage to get away with it.

Hi Guys. I'm not here to advocate for the school, but can we just take a step back and remember, this is one student that made a huge mistake. What are we if not human, if you don't forgive, let this be a learning experience for everyone, but I do agree punishment is needed. I would also like to make it clear, from official sources, PUNISHMENT HAS NOT BEEN SET, the 2 week suspension that got reduced to a ½ day is just a rumor. There's no need for the pitchforks, the family involved is lovely to be around, and this was a mistake, something we all make. Albeit of great magnitude, I'm sure the mature approach would be to move forward and learn from the experience. Please ensure you know the full story and don't spread rumors you don't know are true. STS isn't racist at all, it's an excellent school, and a mistake was made that we can all learn from. Deleting my comment and censoring this opinion makes you no better. I have learned the facts and have learned that PUNISHMENT HAS NOT BEEN SET so we are all freaking out for no reason, it's not fair, and I'm sure the school will deal with the matter in a professional matter.

Racism should never be tolerated. Some type of action must be taken so it is clear that this is not okay, and never will be.

Double standards much? The only reason for the school keeping it hush is cause her mom is on the board of governors, and is probs a donor. STS is a business after all. Although I would not say STS is a racist school as I have not had a problem in 10 years

My thoughts are with the victim of this horrible event. Expulsion is the necessary punishment, anything else would be a disgrace to humanity.

Strath should be ashamed, their tolerance for this type of hate does not align with any other school in the city, a truly disgusting community. Time for change.

I believe that the way to heal the world is through equality. Please consider your actions before you regret them.
