Many of these "regulars" appear to hardly be homeless sporting clean clothes, haircuts, and cellphones. Panhandling should not be allowed in Milford. It is an eyesore to our community. If these people are truly homeless there are many reasonable options available in milford and the surrounding towns for them. I have offered medium type labor work to one of them for a day at a rate of 10/hr and he refused. That leads me to believe he is not homeless and likely doing better behind the scenes than many others in Milford who are actually working hard for their income. Please sign and repost through any media available to you. Our city needs to take action against panhandling.

I have been hearing from so many of you who see these same individuals on our corners every single day. Taking a stand on this issue is about maintaining the safety and character of the town I call home.

Seeing one hundred people sign this shows I am not the only one frustrated by what is happening on our streets. It is clear that the community wants our city to finally address this issue.

I am watching our numbers climb toward one hundred and it shows that our neighbors are tired of this behavior in our streets. Please post this link to your social media accounts so we can ensure the local officials see that this is a priority for Milford.

By the way I never lie on my signs. I don't exaggerate or lie or approach people. I feel that we can do more for people like me. And if anyone has work contact me 2035843301...I'll start tomo. The milford shelter has turned me down repeatedly. Put your money where your mouth is. Im a clean cut 33 yrold man who will work for min wage tomorrow.

I see the same guy every single morning by the post road exit. He has a brand new smartphone and his shoes look nicer than mine. Total scam, drive them out of town.

We've all received and given help in the past but it's gotten really disturbing, I agree with you if someone really needs help there are other ways to get it. Recently I was at the light turning into pier one a young man actually walked up waving his sign at me and stuck it flat up against my driver side window, if you happen to sneak past that guy there is another one at the next light up... It's very upsetting to be trapped at the light when they are bullying us into giving over money, yesterday at the stop light near the cemetery the blonde woman stood In front of my car with her sign so I couldn't even pass when the light changed green. If we can't or won't pass out our money they shouldn't touch our cars, or block us from driving off. It's scary!

Milford has a shelter and a soup kitchen, a vet with one leg likely has disability not to mention food stamps and who knows what other assistance. The reason they refuse work is that panhandling pays better without taxes and fica than a job. Please pass an ordinance.

I am a parttime panhandler. I am immasculated by doing it. I have a running total in writing that I will repay someday. I feel that many panhandlers are bullcrappers, but I only take what I need to survive and always pay forward any extra. I look for work everyday and I live in my truck so if I have no money I will do it. My heart has not gotten so much larger since I became a homeless man. If you ban it, people will steal etc. I cry often as I do it and it hurts being told I'm a loser on a 10 min basis. Walk a mile in a man shoes before you sign this petition. And I'm not hiding behind a keyboard I will talk face to face to any working person who thinks they cant spare a dollar once in a blue. I hate it...but it kept alive often this winter....5 degrees sleeping in a truck with no gas would make you suicidal too.

I have personally seen a couple begging for money and they are both in wheelchairs over by Mayflower Truck Stop on several different occasions but one day I saw them both farther up the road away from the truck stop and Surprise Surprise but they were NOT in their wheelchairs!!!.. They were perfectly capable of walking!! And there is another man who I see all the time who stands around the Shop rite area and near Howard Johnson hotel... He stands there with his pant leg rolled up so people can see that he has a fake leg and his sign says "Please help a Veteren". Sorry but this guy is a FRAUD!!!... I personally know someone who knows him and told me that he lost his leg in a motorcycle accident NOT in Vietnam like he claims!! How dare he when there are so many veterans out there that have really fought for our country and have been injured!!!
